No one talks about this but… those red eye drops from the drugstore? They are actually making your eyes worse over time.

Most people reach for the Visine, Clear Eyes, or Lumify when their eyes are red. They work fast, the redness disappears, then its BACK!

Here’s what is really happening: those drops contain a vasoconstrictor. Its squeezes your blood vessels shut to hide the redness. When it wears off, your blood vessels bounce back bigger than before. This is called rebound redness.

I’ve seen it happen hundreds of times. Patients think they have chronic redness. However, when the eyes are red; it’s usually because of dryness, too much screen time or lack of sleep. Let’s treat the actual cause and not mask it with drops that make the cycle worse.
