Fall brings more yard work and outdoor sports, which can put extra strain on your body. Here are a few tips to stay injury-free:
Raking and yard work: bend at the knees and hips, not the waist, and switch up your grip and stance so you’re not overworking one side.
Yard work in general: warm up before you start. Raking, bagging, and hauling are a workout, even if it doesn’t feel like one until your back disagrees the next day.
Fall sports: warm up with dynamic stretching before practice. Hamstrings and ankles take the brunt of it, so give them the attention they deserve.
A little prevention now saves a lot of recovery later.
