Kayla Brown, M.S. CCC-SLP, Founder & CEO of My Roar Therapy, was recognized as a 2026 Movers & Shakers honoree by Cary Magazine.

Anyone who knows Kayla knows this recognition reflects so much more than professional success. It reflects her heart for people, her vision for creating a space that feels safe and supportive for families, and her commitment to leading with compassion and intention.

My Roar Therapy was built from a desire to create something that felt different. A place where children feel seen, families feel supported, and clinicians feel valued.

We’re so proud of Ms. Kira. 🦁💛

She officially completed her Clinical Fellowship and earned her CCCs in Speech-Language Pathology, and this is such a special milestone.

The CF year asks a lot of new clinicians. It stretches you professionally and personally. It asks you to keep learning, keep growing, and keep showing up for children and families through all of it.

And Ms. Kira has done that with so much warmth, compassion, and heart.

We’ve loved watching her grow this year into a clinician families trust deeply and kids feel safe with. That kind of care matters so much.

One of the best parts of what we do at My Roar is getting to support clinicians as they grow into the clinicians they’re meant to become. Watching Ms. Kira reach this moment means a lot to our whole team.

Getting an evaluation doesn't mean something is wrong. It means you're paying attention. And that's already one of the most important things you can do.

It shapes how sessions are led, how families are supported, and how the team works together day to day.
The work is thoughtful and relationship-based. It asks for presence, flexibility, and care for the people in front of you.

Spring is often when schools discuss evaluations, eligibility testing, and IEPs.

For many families, that conversation feels overwhelming.

Here’s what to remember:

An evaluation provides data about how your child learns and communicates.

IEP eligibility is not a judgment about intelligence.
It determines whether additional supports are needed for access to education.

Speech and language can impact:
• Reading comprehension
• Written expression
• Math word problems
• Following multi-step directions
• Peer interactions

You are allowed to ask questions.
You are allowed to request clarification.
You are allowed to seek an outside evaluation.

Support is about access not limitation.
