Memorial Day Closure Notice

Essential Eyecare & Optical will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25th, 2026 in observance of Memorial Day.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Grateful for an amazing day at the Apopka Health & Fitness Fest!

We had such a great time connecting with so many members of the Apopka community, sharing what we do at Essential Eyecare & Optical, and helping people take steps toward better vision and overall health.

It was also a pleasure meeting so many incredible vendors and professionals—always inspiring to be surrounded by others who are passionate about wellness and community impact.

Wrapped up Black History Month with another visit to Teague Middle School today. It was a privilege to speak with the students and share a little about my journey as an African American optometrist—the challenges, the late nights studying, and the path that led me into the profession.

I also had the chance to introduce them to the field of optometry and hopefully spark interest in careers they may not have considered before.

One of the highlights of the day was realizing that one of my patients from Essential Eyecare & Optical was actually in the class. Seeing a familiar face definitely brought a smile to my face.

Grateful for the opportunity to encourage the next generation and remind them that their goals are possible with hard work, faith, and persistence.
