"It's the little things."

For Lisa Lemler, Director of Food & Nutrition Services here at Apple Valley Village, creating a great dining experience starts with listening. Whether it's sitting down one-on-one with residents, offering alternatives, or going the extra mile to accommodate a special request, Lisa is dedicated to helping our residents feel heard and cared for.

Sometimes, it's the smallest gestures that make the biggest impact. Like making homemade whipped cream for a resident who loved it, turning an ordinary day into a special one.

As we conclude Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week, we're grateful for team members like Lisa who help foster fullness of life through compassion, attention to detail, and a commitment to resident-centered care. 🌟

We will miss our dear friend Curt, who recently passed away. But we were so blessed take some of our residents to his funeral service today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Prior Lake, thanks to having our new bus! Thank you, Pastor Trapp for a beautiful service!

A Brief History of National Assisted Living Week

Did you know that National Assisted Living Week was established in 1995 by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL)? The annual celebration was created to recognize the important role assisted living communities play in supporting older adults and individuals with disabilities, while also honoring the residents, families, staff, and volunteers who make these communities feel like home. National Assisted Living Week is celebrated each year beginning on Grandparents Day and encourages communities across the country to come together through special events, activities, and meaningful connections.

What a beautiful afternoon at Apple Valley Villa! 🌸🫖

Yesterday's Mother's Day Tea Party was everything we hoped it would be, and it's all because of the wonderful people who filled the room with laughter, love, and joy. To every resident, family member, and guest who joined us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Watching families come together to celebrate the incredible mothers and mother figures in our community is truly what this work is all about.

A special thank you to our amazing team members who helped make this event so special. Your dedication to our residents shines through in everything you do.
