🚨What is sepsis?

Dr. Shelley Schoepflin Sanders, an internal medicine physician at Providence Health & Services - Oregon Region, explains this medical emergency, the signs to watch for and why acting quickly can save lives.

Today, we’re celebrating a milestone moment for Providence and the communities we serve.

Phil and Penny Knight have committed $1.1 billion to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Providence Heart Institute — one of the largest healthcare gifts in U.S. history.

Transforming care through philanthropy, this historic gift will help create Oregon’s first hospital dedicated to women’s health, advance heart care and expand support for patients and families across the region.

We are deeply grateful for the Knights’ generosity and belief in Providence’s Mission. Together, this gift will help shape the future of care in Oregon and across the Pacific Northwest for generations.

Fifteen years ago, a call went out for NICU nurses. The opportunity intrigued Liberty Rivera, but caring for the tiniest and most fragile patients felt intimidating. Today, she calls it one of the best decisions she's ever made.

"The NICU was my fit. I love being part of the lives of these families. It's so gratifying when a parent reaches out years later, saying I was there when their child was born."

💙 Step inside a day in Liberty's life and see how she cares for babies and families in the NICU: http://swedishnw.org/6185akCRX

Chloe is cancer-free! 🎉

At just 15 years old, Chloe was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in September 2025. Because of the aggressive nature of this type of cancer, she spent much of her journey in the hospital, facing every challenge with incredible strength and courage.

After a tough battle, 16-year-old Chloe has officially rung the bell, marking the end of her cancer treatment and the beginning of a new chapter.

Inspired by the nurses and caregivers who cared for her, Chloe now hopes to become a pediatric nurse herself. We couldn't be more proud of her resilience, determination and heart. We can't wait to see all she accomplishes in the future.

Congratulations, Chloe! 🔔 🎗️

Not every step forward is easy to see.

Maybe today feels a little lighter than yesterday. Maybe you reached out to a friend. Maybe you got out of bed, went for a walk or simply made it through a difficult day.

That's progress. ❤️

On 988 Day, we're helping raise awareness of the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline and the reminder that no one has to face difficult moments alone.

Did you know atrial fibrillation (AFib) is a major risk factor for stroke?

For many people living with AFib, blood thinners can help reduce the risk of stroke. But for some patients, long-term medication may not be the best option.

Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., is helping expand access to advanced stroke prevention options, including a minimally invasive alternative for certain patients.

More options mean more personalized care and more ways to help patients reduce their stroke risk.
