☀️ Summertime is in full swing, which means most of us are in GO mode checking off all the fun on our summer bucket lists.

Whether you’re heading to the gym, chasing kids around the park, spending the day on the lake, bouncing from one sports tournament to the next, or simply enjoying a little sunshine, staying hydrated makes a big difference in how you feel and how you recover.

One of my favorite summer essentials? Nutridyn Hydrate💧

Why I love it:
💦 Replenishes electrolytes lost through sweat
⚡ Supports steady energy throughout the day
💪 Promotes muscle recovery
🍋 Tastes so good that even your kiddos will drink it

The individual stick packs make it easy to toss a few in your purse, stroller cupholder, beach bag, or cooler so you’re always prepared to stay hydrated wherever summer takes you.

Perfect for:
⚽ Sideline moms
🏖️ Lake days
🏋️‍♀️ Gym goers
🌭 Backyard BBQs
☀️ Basically anyone sweating through the summer heat!

HBD America 🇺🇸✨

A few reminders as you head into the holiday weekend:

🇺🇸 The cooler is heavier than you remember.
🇺🇸 Your fun cup can hold water too…..don’t forget to hydrate.
🇺🇸 Six straight hours in a lawn chair is a choice your spine may have questions about later.
🇺🇸 Your nieces and nephews will still think you’re cool if you skip the demonstration that you once could do a cartwheel.
🇺🇸 Your body would appreciate a little warm-up before the annual family volleyball game.
🇺🇸 The air mattress you filled this morning seemed more supportive at the time, but you’re should probably fill it again before you go to sleep tonight.

Fortunately, your chiropractor planned ahead and will be back in the office for a full week next week if your neck or back have thoughts about your holiday choices😉

Wishing you a safe, fun, memory-filled Fourth of July weekend filled with great food, better company, and just the right amount of chaos.

Happy Fourth! ❤️🤍💙

It’s our Birthday, but YOU Get the Gift! 🎉🩵

Reform Chiropractic is turning THREE! We are celebrating three years as a chiropractic clinic in Appleton by bringing back our annual local community donation drive + discounted services. (If you’ve been around for a while, you know this is the only time of year I offer any kind of discount on care.)

Historically, we’ve come together for a school supply drive, but this year we’re switching it up slightly and partnering with The Monthlies Project to help support school-aged girls in our community.

Access to period products shouldn’t determine whether a girl attends school, participates in sports, or feels confident showing up as herself. Supporting women through every season of life so they can show up fully for their purpose has always been the heart of Reform, and this felt like a mission worth rallying around. Check out The Monthlies Project and their website (monthliesproject.com) to learn how they are making meaningful impact on the lives of girls in our community. 🩸

Here’s how it works:

👉 Bring in three items from the donation list and your adjustment is on us. This offer is available to both new and familiar faces! (Limit one per patient.)

We’re collecting: unopened box of tampons, pads (of various absorbency), and panty liners, period un**es, + black leggings!

Collection will run 07/06-08/07 and all donations will go directly to Fox Valley girls and young-women through The Monthlies Project.

If you’ve been watching from afar or you’ve had Reform on your “someday” list...consider this your sign, my friend. The perfect time to both give and receive.💫

The joints of your mid-back and ribs are designed to move with every breath, reach, twist, and turn throughout the day.

When that motion becomes restricted, not only can you start to feel that familiar tension creeping in between your shoulder blades, but other areas often have to pick up the slack. That can lead to increased strain through the neck, shoulders, and low back as your body searches for movement elsewhere.

Restoring motion to the mid-back helps your body distribute movement more efficiently, so you’re not constantly asking the same areas to do more than they were designed to do.

We often think about movement in terms of our outward appearance — exercising to improve or maintain how we look on the outside. But some of the most profound effects are happening internally — in the brain and nervous system, influencing hormones and metabolism, and the future quality of your life.

More than aesthetics, strength training is an investment in your energy, emotional wellbeing, cognitive health, metabolic function, independence, resilience, and longevity. The muscle you build now becomes part of the foundation that supports how you age, move, think, and function for decades to come.

Okay, play along with me and try this wherever you're sitting right now and feel how even just a slight shift in posture influences the function of the jaw.

Most people will feel a difference in tension, movement, or tightness of the jaw with this change in position. That doesn't mean there's one "perfect" posture you need to hold all day long. Our bodies are meant to move, shift, and adapt throughout the day. (As I always say, the best posture is one that changes often.) But posture does influence how different parts of the body work together. The way we sit at a desk, hold stress in our shoulders, scroll on our phones, or carry tension through the neck will absolutely affect things like jaw tension, headaches, stiffness, and even how comfortably we breathe or move.

Did you try it out? Did you feel the difference?🤔

Your body was made to move.

Movement is one of the ways your body was designed to function, adapt, and thrive. When you move, blood gets pumping, joints get nourishment, muscles get stronger, your nervous system gets valuable input, and energy often follows.

Movement is not a light suggestion in your care plan, it is a requirement for your healing.

A throwback pic to almost three years ago when I graduated from chiropractic school in honor of International Women Chiropractors day!🫶🏼

Really I didn’t become a Doctor of Chiropractic because I’m passionate about low back pain and headaches. I became a Doctor of Chiropractic because I’m passionate about the incredible God-given design of the human body. And I believe chiropractic honors that.

I’m passionate about helping women feel at home in their bodies again instead of dismissed by them. About helping someone understand WHY they feel the way they do so they know how to appropriately respond to what their body is communicating. About looking deeper for the root cause and caring for the whole person instead of only chasing symptoms away.

Our bodies are intelligent by design and symptoms are never random. Health is so much more than simply covering things up long enough to get through the day. You were made to thrive. To live on purpose, for a purpose.

What a gift it is to do this work.🥹

Happy International Women Chiropractors Day to all my fellow ladies in Chiropractic💓

“I have TMJ.”

Well…technically we all do.😅

TMJ (short for temporomandibular joint) is just the joint that connects your jaw to your skull. So if you have a jaw, you have a TMJ.

What most people are usually talking about is TMD (short for temporomandibular disorder/dysfunction), which is when that area starts feeling tight, sore, clicky, or like it just doesn’t move the way it should. It can show up with chewing discomfort, jaw fatigue, facial pain, headaches, or that clenching you notice when you want to relax.

In practice, treatment often focuses on multiple things at the same time:

➡️ The jaw itself, where we can gently work on mobility, easing muscle tension, and creating better coordination so the jaw moves more comfortably and smoothly.

➡️ The upper neck, where improving joint motion and reducing surrounding muscle guarding can take pressure off the system the jaw has likely been compensating for.

➡️ The upper back also plays a big role. When posture shifts forward through the mid-back and shoulders, the head usually follows. That changes how the jaw rests and moves throughout the day, often increasing tension through the TMJ over time.

When all of this is addressed together, people will often notice things like less clenching, easier opening, and fewer headaches tied into jaw tension.
