𝗣𝗔𝗝 𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗨𝗕 𝗖𝗜𝗥𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝗚𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗔 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗟𝗗 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗣!

Tonight, Rasami & our Elders took a little break from their usual Paj Ntaub Circle activities and went on a mini field trip to the Appleton Public Library!

They had the pleasure of meeting with 𝗠𝘀. Sia Chang, who gave our elders a wonderful introduction to the library and the many resources, programs, and services available to our community! There's so much more to the library than just checking out books!

Here are just a few of the wonderful services we learned about that would be so beneficial to our elders:

𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 – A home delivery service for individuals who may have difficulty getting to the library. What a wonderful resource for our homebound elders and able to connect with someone who speaks their language!
𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 – Need help using your smartphone, writing coggan email, or learning how to use a computer? The library offers technology support!
𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 – Assistance with job searches, résumé building, and other employment resources for their families.
𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘅 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 – Opportunities to explore and discover more of what our local community has to offer!
𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 – Access to TumbleBooks and other digital learning materials through the library's website, without having to pay for certain subscription services separately.
𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 – Yes, FREE! Just be sure to call ahead to arrange for the service.

But one of the most exciting moments of our visit was that 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀!

What a wonderful experience! Our elders are excited to explore and take advantage of these resources in the future.

❤️ 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗘𝗟𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗥𝗨𝗡𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗦! ❤️

These amazing grandmas showed us that it's never too late to try something new, have a little fun, and make beautiful memories! After two weeks of practicing and preparing, our elders took to the runway at the 2026-27 Green Bay Hmong New Year Fashion Show, and they absolutely 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗗!

They are so adorable! We are so proud of them! Here's a little glimpse of their time on stage at the 2026-27 GBHNY!

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗘𝗟𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦!
✨ 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝘀! ✨

We couldn't be more proud of our New Hmong elders as they stepped onto the stage at the Green Bay Hmong New Year 2026-27 to open the celebration with traditional Kwv Txhiaj and for stepping outside their comfort zones and participating in this year's fashion show! For many, this was their very first time being 𝗥𝗨𝗡𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗦 in a fashion show, but judging by these photos, you'd think they were professionals! 🥰

Thank you to our amazing elders for their courage, enthusiasm, and dedication. You all looked absolutely beautiful, and we are so proud of you!

Thank you to Rasami Moua, our 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗛𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, for her dedication in bringing our elders together, encouraging them to try something new, and helping them shine on the stage! ❤️

We also want to give a special 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗧 to photographer Vic Moua for capturing these beautiful moments of our elders on the stage helping preserve these special memories!

Thank you to Peb Yog Hmoob, Maiv Passion Foundation, Ltd. and the Green Bay Hmong New Year organizers for creating a space where our elders can continue to be seen, celebrated, and appreciated in our community.

What do we inherit? And what do we choose to pass forward?

Join People of Progression for The Inheritance Project : Understanding History. Strengthening Families. Shaping the Future. — a two-day summit bringing together community members, families, advocates, educators, healthcare and public health professionals, students, researchers, service providers, and leaders from across sectors.

Featuring award-winning author and scholar Dr. Stacey Patton, Ph.D., we’ll explore the connections between history, family systems, childhood experiences, intergenerational trauma, community health, and the well-being of future generations.

This is more than a conversation about the past. It’s an opportunity to better understand what we have inherited, how it continues to show up today, and what we can intentionally strengthen, heal, and change for those coming after us.
