FOX 11 News stopped by Touchmark on West Prospect to catch up with residents celebrating the Milwaukee Brewers' return to the World Series after 44 years. From memories of watching Jackie Robinson play to cheering on the Milwaukee Braves in the 1950s, these lifelong baseball fans have incredible stories to share—and plenty of team spirit.

Some baseball memories are simply unforgettable! ⚾

As Wisconsin celebrates another exciting postseason, Touchmark on West Prospect resident Ron Leskowicz is looking back on the Milwaukee Braves and their historic 1957 World Series championship. Ron recently shared his memories of watching legends like Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews with WLUK-TV FOX 11 News.

📚 It's been a month of authors here at Touchmark! 📚

What an incredible month of storytelling, inspiration, and fascinating journeys!

🏈 We welcomed Tom Lovat, former Green Bay Packers offensive line coach. Tom shared memories from his remarkable football career, including the Packers' return to glory in the 1990s and their Super Bowl ###I championship season. From the Copper Pit to the Super Bowl: How Tom Lovat Created Legendary Linemen and Shaped the Packers' Return to Glory" is his biography

📖 Tammy Borden took us on a powerful journey through history with her books Waltraud: A True Story of Growing Up in N**i Germany and The Harvest Keeper, based on the true story of surviving Stalin's Holodomor famine in Ukraine. Her stories reminded us of the strength of the human spirit and the importance of preserving history.

🐾 Gail Scoates, retired registered nurse and award-winning author, warmed our hearts with the story behind her novel Puma: A Shelter Dog Becomes a Hero. Inspired by a true story, it celebrates second chances, the special bond between people and animals, and the difference one rescue dog can make.

Three authors, three very different journeys, and so many wonderful stories shared!

We are grateful to these talented authors for spending time with our residents, sharing their experiences, and reminding us that every story has something to teach us. ❤️

As part of Active Aging Week, we’re embracing new experiences at Touchmark, and today we tried something truly unique, a Soul Sound Journey, also known as a sound bath! 🎶

Residents relaxed and immersed themselves in soothing vibrations created by singing bowls, chimes, drums, flutes, and other instruments. The experience was designed to encourage relaxation, reflection, balance, and a sense of renewal.

Active aging is about more than staying physically active. It’s also about staying curious, trying something new, and nurturing the mind, body, and spirit.

As Touchmark resident Mary Anne Aspinwall shares, “I have lived in two different retirement communities, and this is by far the best. Staff go out of their way to make residents feel comfortable, and management is super responsive to needs. Also, they always have activities going on for residents—it does not matter what your health conditions are; they make sure there is something available for everyone. That is such a wonderful thing to see!”

During National Assisted Living Week, we’ve celebrated the residents who bring life to our communities and the team members who help create opportunities for everyone to participate, connect, and thrive.
