**10 years ago, I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic.** 🎓🤍

10 years. A whole decade of growth, learning, challenges, blessings, and becoming.

When I look back at the girl who walked across that stage 10 years ago, I can’t help but smile. She had big dreams, a passion for helping others, and absolutely no idea where the next decade would take her.

Since then, I’ve grown in ways I never could have imagined. Not just as a chiropractor and healthcare provider, but as a woman, a wife, a mother, and a business owner.

My passion for health and wellness has continued to evolve. I’ve learned that true healing is about so much more than simply addressing symptoms. It’s about listening, digging deeper, understanding the whole person, and empowering people to take ownership of their health.

I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside so many patients through some of their most vulnerable moments, celebrating their victories, and continually being reminded of **why I chose this profession in the first place.**

And somewhere along the way, while building a career, I was also building a life. A family, a home, and a version of myself that the girl graduating from Palmer could have only dreamed of.

It hasn’t always been easy. There have been moments of uncertainty, growing pains, sacrifices, and plenty of lessons learned. But every season has shaped me into the provider and person I am today.

**10 years later, I’m still learning. Still growing. Still passionate. And still just as committed to making a difference.**

If I could tell that girl one thing, it would be: *Keep going. The life you’re building is going to be even more beautiful than you imagined.*

Here’s to 10 years since Palmer, the patients who have trusted me along the way, and all that is still to come. 🥹🤍

**CLIENT WIN 🙌🏼**

Calprotectin is a stool marker that helps us assess **inflammation occurring within the intestinal tract**. When this patient first came to me in June, her calprotectin was **1,251 — significantly elevated.**

Just 90 days later, her repeat testing showed **204.** That’s a decrease of **1,047 points — more than an 80% reduction.** 👏🏼

Is 204 where we ultimately want it? **Not yet.** An elevated calprotectin still deserves appropriate follow-up, and this marker alone doesn’t tell us the underlying cause of the inflammation.

But this is exactly why I love **retesting and looking at objective data.** We aren’t simply asking, “Do you feel better?” We can also look at how markers are trending over time.

Functional medicine is about investigating what may be contributing to symptoms, supporting the body appropriately, and then **measuring our progress.**

This patient still has work ahead of her, but seeing this kind of movement in only 90 days is absolutely worth celebrating. 🤍

Today we’re celebrating the woman behind Fox Valley Functional Medicine — practitioner, business owner, wife, mom, woman of faith, and someone who pours so much of her heart into caring for others. 🌿

Dr. Mikhaila’s passion has always been about more than labs, supplements, or nutrition. It’s about helping people feel heard, finding the *why* behind their symptoms, and helping women and families feel like themselves again.

FVFM has grown from a dream into a beautiful community, and so much of that comes from her genuine love for her patients and her belief that God placed her in this work for a reason.

This next year brings another chapter of growth, faith, family, big dreams, and hopefully a little more time to slow down and enjoy all that she has worked so hard to build. 🤍

We are so grateful for every patient, family, friend, and follower who has supported Dr. Mikhaila and Fox Valley Functional Medicine along the way. Being able to serve this community is one of the greatest gifts.

What I’m doing to support + heal my gut 🤎

Gut healing doesn’t have to mean 15 different supplements and a complicated morning routine. These are a few of the staples I’ve been using consistently to support my gut while also making sure I’m getting enough protein and nourishment.

✨ GlutaShield® — I use this to support and soothe the GI lining and intestinal barrier. Think of this as helping provide nutritional support for the gut lining while I work on the bigger picture.

✨ SBI Protect® — contains serum-derived bovine immunoglobulins that can help support intestinal immune function and a healthy gut barrier. This has been one of my go-to tools when focusing on GI health.

But here’s the important part: a supplement or shake alone doesn’t “heal” your gut.
