Dr Wendy Schroeder I am a family physician in Appleton WI with over 15 years of experience in care of all ages. I enjoy caring for patients of all ages, from newborn to hospice.

I am particularly interested in health and wellness, preventive care, breastfeeding, mental health, pediatrics, weight loss, and sports medicine. I am a DO which means Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and I enjoy using osteopathic manipulation/manual medicine to help my patients with back and neck pain, headaches and all types of problems. I grew up on a dairy farm here in Northeast WI. I attended UW La Crosse and earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. I attended Des Moines University in Iowa from 2002-2006
I did my family practice residency in Appleton with the UW Health Residency Program.

Another Saturday book recommendation that I am hoping makes you laugh out loud but is also not for the faint of heart- lots of grossness combines with dry humor- my FAVORITE! Kind of the opposite of the last Saturday’s book- what NOT to do/use and why. Enjoy!

It’s been a bit but here is a Saturday book recommendation. Lots of learning here. A super quick read written by an ER doc and with a quick wit- don’t hate us because we are funny 😆. An especially timely book for the upcoming influenza season as she addresses vaccine hesitancy from her ER perspective- which is a very practical one. (But that is just one of many chapters). Friday funny! Whip out your red card every time someone says the flu shot gave them the flu because it is impossible. The influenza vaccine is an inactive vaccine. So instead, tell them “Congratulations on your robust immune response to your vaccine!!!” 🙌🏻👏🙌🏻👏

Also, Influenza is already in the Fox Valley so don’t wait any longer to get your vaccine. The more people get vaccinated the more we can prevent influenza related child deaths like I post about every winter (not Friday funny 😩).
