💙 Lots of exciting things going on at the MACC. I’m especially excited about our new online directory project - the public will be able to find Christ-centered care that is near their location and within their budget. Grateful to lock arms with these incredible colleagues (and friends) in this work 🙏🏼

👋 Meet the people behind MACC.

When you see a MACC event, workshop, email, or new initiative, there's a group of volunteers behind it who care deeply about Christ-centered mental health care—and genuinely enjoy serving together!

MACC's Board of Directors is made up of Christian counselors and ministry leaders from across Minnesota. Most of the meetings happen virtually, but that doesn't stop them from being full of encouragement, meaningful conversations... and plenty of laughter.

MACC's board is united in faith in Jesus and a shared mission:
"Connecting and equipping Christian counselors, pastors, and those serving in ministry to provide Christ-centered care to their communities."

Whether they're planning workshops, developing the new MACC website and directory, preparing for their upcoming Gala, or dreaming about what's God has in store next, it's a privilege to serve alongside one another—and alongside this incredible community.

Thank you for being part of MACC. The board can't wait to continue growing this community together.

💙 We'd love to get to know you, too! Introduce yourself in the comments and tell us how you're connected to MACC.

Big win yesterday at the Supreme Court 🙌
The Court ruled 8–1 in favor of free speech for counselors—striking down so-called “conversion therapy” bans.

Counselors will continue to be held to high ethical standards and oversight from their licensing boards, protecting against any abusive practices or coercion of clients. As always, those who act unethically will be reported and held accountable.

These “conversion therapy” bans were not keeping people safer—they functioned to muzzle and silence counselors with certain viewpoints. Yesterday, the Court upheld the constitutional right to free speech for counselors across the nation 🙌🏼

I’m so grateful to have been part of this work with the Christian Counselors Freedom Alliance, Alliance Defending Freedom, Dan Schmoyer, Nate Oyloe, Renee Carlson and so many others ❤️

Earlier this year, Dan Schmoyer from Northwest Family Counseling and I launched the Christian Counselors Freedom Alliance (CCFA) in order to join forces with Renee Carlson from True North Legal and Alliance Defending Freedom to file an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in this important case👇🏼

As Christian counselors, we firmly reject harmful and unethical practices such as food deprivation or electroshock therapy aimed at changing a person’s s*xuality or gender identity. Those methods are outdated and contrary to both sound clinical standards and professional ethics.

However, we also believe it is deeply concerning when the government attempts to control what counselors can say—or penalize us for holding a particular viewpoint.

Here are some key facts to consider:
Research indicates that approximately 90% of minors experiencing gender confusion eventually come to identify with their biological s*x.

Yet, under current regulations in CO, MN and other states, counselors are restricted to only affirming an adolescent’s declared gender identity.

This limits our ability to explore underlying issues compassionately and honestly, and it coerces therapists to affirm what they may not believe to be true—that gender is purely a matter of personal choice.

So-called “conversion therapy” bans amount to viewpoint discrimination. They silence one side of the conversation in an effort to push vulnerable young people toward irreversible medical interventions, often resulting in lifelong physical and emotional harm.

Please join us in praying that the Supreme Court will uphold freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and true therapeutic integrity by striking down these unconstitutional bans 🙏🏼
