Last month, we kicked off our Dementia Care Workshop series💜🧠👩‍🏫

Our Director of Nursing, Emily Glowacki, BSN, RN, DCPC received her Dementia Clinical Practice Certification through an intensive training program with Rachel Wiley, MS, OTR/L, DCPC & the The Dementia Collaborative. Emily is sharing her wealth of knowledge on best practices for communication and fostering a calm, comfortable, safe environment for our clients with dementia.

She's also laid down a challenge to our 2nd Family of Philadelphia & the Main Line RN Care Coordinators to take the course & get certified by the end of 2027.

The strategies and skills learned in these targeted workshops bring increased value to our clients and their families. We're always working to expand our knowledge base when it comes to compassionate care and how to support our clients and their families.

Our RNs are closing out the year with big goals for 2027!

We're assembling our RN Care Coordinators for regular training sessions to get everything in order, including:

👩🏻‍⚕️ Streamlining workflows
👩🏻‍⚕️ Providing direct links to required documentation files to meet & exceed Pennsylvania standards
👩🏻‍⚕️ Review clients & making necessary care adjustments
👩🏻‍⚕️ Evaluating where we need to engage ancillary services to enhance their quality of life
👩🏻‍⚕️ Discussing caregiver & client pairings, making changes where necessary

NEW FOR 2027: Dementia Care Clinical Practitioner (DCPC) Certification💜

Expertise in dementia care is a game changer for our clients & their families.
We are prioritizing this effort after Director of Nursing, Emily Glowacki, received her DCPC certification in dementia care this year.

WE ARE EXCITED!
Our goal is to have all nurses certified by the end of 2027, starting with our first group in October.

STEP 3️⃣: Organize Essential Documents & Information
📑 Copy their ID, insurance cards, Medicare/Medicaid cards, and medical records.
📑 Gather legal papers like wills, advance directives, and power of attorney.
📑 Keep physical copies in a waterproof bag and save digital copies on a secure phone or cloud drive.

Medical emergencies, weather-related emergencies, public health, security...planning ahead is always a best practice.💯
