Not all sandals are created equal - and your feet know the difference by 3 p.m. When you're shopping for summer footwear, look for three things: arch support, a contoured footbed, and a heel strap or back strap that keeps your foot in place. Avoid the dollar-store flip-flops for anything beyond a quick trip to the pool - they force your toes to grip with every step, which can lead to tendon strain, arch pain, and even plantar fasciitis flare-ups. Your feet carry you everywhere. Treat them to footwear that returns the favor.

Not sure if your favorite sandals are helping or hurting? Bring them in for a quick check.

Tomorrow is National Trails Day, and we're lucky to have so many great trails right here in our backyard - from LLELA to Pilot Knoll. Before you lace up, a few quick reminders from Dr. Suttle: break in new hiking shoes before tackling longer distances, wear moisture-wicking socks to prevent blisters, and stretch your calves and Achilles before and after the hike. Twisted ankle on the trail? Use the RICE method (rest, ice, compression, elevation) and give us a call if pain or swelling lingers more than a couple of days.

If your first few steps out of bed feel like you're stepping on glass, you're not alone. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common reasons patients walk through our doors - especially as the weather warms up and sandals come out. The good news? It's very treatable. Stretching, supportive footwear, and targeted therapies can make a real difference. The longer you wait, the harder it is to bounce back, so don't push through it. Reach out and let's get you walking pain-free again.

What is shockwave therapy? Imagine sending targeted sound waves to an injured area to stimulate your body’s natural healing process. It’s non-invasive, requires no downtime, and is incredibly effective for chronic conditions like plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis. We offer it right here in Argyle.
