What are those white dots?

They’re called “frosting,” and they appear immediately after TCA-CROSS treatment for acne scars.

TCA-CROSS is different from a traditional chemical peel. Rather than treating the entire skin surface, treatment is carefully focused on selected acne scars. The temporary frosting shows where the solution was applied.

Over the following weeks and months, the healing response helps stimulate remodeling within the treated scars, so improvement is gradual rather than immediate.

One of the most common questions I hear is "How many treatments will I need?"

The honest answer is that no one can know with certainty before treatment begins. Everyone produces collagen differently. Some patients improve quickly. Others need additional sessions or a different combination of treatments.

Rather than selling treatment packages, I prefer to evaluate the results after each procedure and decide together what makes the most sense next. That approach avoids unnecessary treatments while giving each patient a plan tailored to their own healing response.

That's one of the reasons every acne scar evaluation is individualized.
