Your PT probably didn’t choose this profession because they stayed healthy their whole athletic career.

Most of us have been on the treatment table too.
We missed practices. Games. Weeks. Sometimes entire seasons.

That experience is a big part of why we do what we do now.

At MyPhysio, we work with active people who hold themselves to a high standard — and we believe we should do the same ourselves.

Our team workouts are meant to encourage that standard. (And maybe, just maybe, to torture our coworkers with their least favorite exercises. I’ll never tell.)

We still train.

We still push ourselves.

And we understand what it feels like when your body can’t do what you want it to do.

If you need help getting back to training and back to normal life, shoot us a DM and let’s sort it out together.

Happy VALDmas!

Our Force Decks came in and .vald was in house to help get everything set up.

We’re investing in our programs and our athletes to make sure we’re making the best decisions possible during rehab, and being certain when they’re ready to go back to sports.

More to come on how it helps, and why it should matter to you.

(Oh, and we’re taking on new club and sports organizations for performance and injury preventing screenings… if you’ve got an athlete playing club sports, send us a DM and we’ll get you the details.)

Lots of ways to change this to make it work:

Regress it to use dumbbells and some sort of hand support.

Progress with additional weight, or move from this - which is essentially a challenging isometric for your low back, hips, and hammies - to loaded Romanian Deadlifts (if you aren’t already there.)

In DFW and need help getting back into the gym after a back injury? Our DMs are open - shoot us a message and we’ll schedule a free 15 minute phone call to talk options with our experienced physical therapists!

is the hardest worker you’ll meet.

This pre-tourney session wasn’t meant to reinvent the wheel.

We used lifts and movements that he’s comfortable with, kept the intensity and dropped the volume so he wouldn’t fatigue.

Not being sore won’t cut it - we need to be FULLY recovered - and that would be a close call with 48 hours to go.

(For the record, when the schedule is tight and you’re well-trained, I’m fully on board with a short lift on tournament day. But maybe not when you’ve got a drive to get there and 36 holes to play.)

Important summer, and a big year ahead for Patrick and 👌

Former D1 athlete and big time pickleballer .dawson in for some shoulder work...

Our PT Kourtney is working to help him get his lats engaged and doing their job so he can get back to pull ups pain free.

Big improvement since last session and everything is trending up!

If the weight room is killing you, we just might have the solution. 👍🏻

Injuries don’t always mean you stop - they just mean you adapt your training.

Not throwing around the big weights today - body weight should do the trick. And we’re working with ’s powerlifting coach to make sure she keeps training heavy while we work through the knee pain she’s been having.

First phase was offloading the quads while moving toward some alternative sumo/style lifts to help her adductors catch up. Now we’re putting emphasis on getting the quads loaded again and building her volume there.

Looking forward to seeing her lifts go ⬆️⬆️⬆️.

Nationals, anyone?! 🏋🏽‍♀️

A powerlifter having pain with bench press is...a problem.

But we can’t JUST look at bench. A lot of times, this comes with some issues during pull work - specifically elevating the shoulder blades when starting to pull, to try to get some extra leverage over the bar. (This shouldn’t be happening).

So today we warmed up with some of the rehab exercises she was using when she first came in.

She pushed close to failure on her lat pulls and had no form breakdown or issues - so we know this isn’t part of the problem.

One more step on the way to Nationals!
