Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. 💜
We pause to remember every life lost to overdose, and to wrap our hearts around the families and friends who miss them. If that's you — we see you, and your loved one's story matters.
Overdose can touch any family. Three things every household can do:
▪ Store medications safely — especially opioids and sleep or anxiety medications, out of sight and reach.
▪ Clear out what's no longer needed — most pharmacies and many police stations have free, anonymous take-back boxes.
▪ Know that naloxone (Narcan) saves lives — it's available at pharmacies without a prescription, and it's worth having if anyone in your home uses opioid medication for any reason.
If you or someone you love is struggling, free and confidential help is available anytime: SAMHSA's helpline at 1-800-662-4357, or call/text 988.
Tonight, we light a candle with the rest of the world. 💜
