š NORMAL THYROID LABS⦠BUT STILL NOT FEELING NORMAL?
Your thyroid does so much more than regulate metabolism. It influences your energy, mood, cognition, hair, skin, body temperature, and overall well-being.
But hereās something important: Thyroid function is more complex than simply producing enough hormone.
𧬠Production matters. Your thyroid primarily produces T4, which serves as a precursor to the more biologically active hormone T3.
š Conversion matters. Much of your T3 is produced outside the thyroid through conversion of T4 to T3. Illness, medications, nutritional status, and other physiological factors can influence this process.
š§ Feedback matters. TSH reflects feedback between the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and thyroid. But thyroid hormones also act throughout the body, where transport, metabolism, and tissue-specific responses influence their effects.
𩺠Symptoms matter, too. A TSH within the reference range is reassuring, but it doesnāt necessarily explain why youāre experiencing fatigue, brain fog, low mood, hair thinning, or difficulty managing your weight.
Thyroid optimization isnāt simply about chasing a lab number. Itās about understanding the entire clinical picture.
At the Institute for Hormonal Balance, we believe in individualized evaluation, appropriate testing, and identifying the underlying contributors to your symptoms.
⨠Because feeling your best involves more than numbers on a lab report.
