🩵
WEEK 4 - Stress, Cortisol & the Nervous System
Theme: Regulating the System That Runs Everything
❤️
You have been productive through things that should have stopped you.
🩵
You have met deadlines while grieving. Kept schedules while healing. Shown up "fully", professionally, competently while carrying a weight the people across the table from you couldn't see and wouldn't have known to ask about. You have optimized your sleep and your supplements and your morning routine while something deeper, something physiological, something running beneath all of it has remained in a state of quiet SOS.
❤️
This is not a character flaw. It is a nervous system pattern and week 4 is where we finally address it directly. We begin, before a single teaching point is introduced, in the body.
🩵
Dr. Tracie Robinson opens this session not with words but with movement. A brief, guided somatic experience that invites the nervous system to do something it may not have done in longer than you can remember: Regulate. Soften. Shift from the sympathetic activation that high-achieving women live in as a baseline... the constant readiness, the vigilance, the performance of capability toward something quieter and more sustainable. You will feel the difference before you understand it clinically. That is deliberate. That is the pedagogy.
❤️
The HPA axis. Cortisol patterns and their cascading effects on hormonal health, immune function, metabolism, sleep, and mood. Allostatic load, the cumulative physiological cost of chronic stress, with explicit, unflinching attention to the compounded burden carried by Black women and women of color who navigate not only the ordinary stressors of professional and personal life, but the chronic, embodied weight of systemic racism, cultural invisibility, and the particular exhaustion of existing in spaces not designed for them. This is not a digression from the clinical content. It IS the clinical content. The body keeps the score — and we name, precisely and without apology, what it has been keeping.

🩵
WEEK 3 - Metabolism, Nourishment & Metabolic Resilience... Theme: Blood Sugar, Nutrition, and Anti-Inflammatory Eating
❤️
Somewhere along the way, food became complicated. Not nutritionally complicated... relationally complicated. Morally complicated. Wrapped in decades of diet culture messaging that turned eating into a performance of discipline, restriction into a virtue, and hunger into something to be conquered rather than honored.
🩵
By the time most women arrive at midlife, their relationship with food carries the weight of every plan they started, every rule they broke, every body they were told they should have had by now. Week 3 begins by putting all of that down.
❤️
We open by returning to the body. What is it telling you right now? Not what the scale said. Not what the last article recommended. What is your body, in this week, in this season of your life, actually communicating?
🩵
Chef L Love holds this opening with the particular warmth of a woman who has spent decades understanding that food is not just sustenance, it is relationship. It is memory. It is information. And before we can talk about nourishment, we have to talk honestly about what we've been taught to believe about it.
❤️
From that foundation, we go clinical. Dr. White walks us through the metabolic architecture of midlife: blood sugar regulation, insulin resistance, the specific ways hormonal transition reshapes how the body processes what we feed it. Not to add another layer of complexity to an already complicated relationship with food, but to replace myth with understanding. Diet culture gets named here, explicitly, without apology, and dismantled piece by piece against the actual evidence. What remains is something simpler and more sustainable than any protocol: an anti-inflammatory eating philosophy rooted in the Womanist Ethic of Care. Nourishment, not restriction. Abundance, not punishment. Food as a daily act of care for a body that deserves to be cared for.

WEEK 2: Your Hormonal Architecture & Your Menstrual Cycle as Data
❤️
Theme: Reproductive & Hormonal Health Through an Integrative Lens
🩵
Most of us were taught that our menstrual cycles were inconveniences to be managed. Symptoms to be suppressed. Fluctuations to be evened out. No one taught us they were a language.
❤️
Week 2 is where that changes.
🩵
This week, we go inside the architecture of your hormonal life not overwhelming you with clinical complexity, but giving you something you should have had decades ago: a working understanding of your own body's design. We explore the relationships between the hormones that have governed your energy, your mood, your sleep, your libido, your weight, and your sense of self AND why the patterns of their rise and decline have so often been misread, mistimed, and mismanaged by a system that was never designed to track them accurately.
❤️
We look at your menstrual cycle (past or present), regular or erratic, fading or fully transformed not as a problem to solve, but as a dataset to read properly... finally. Through the combined lenses of conventional medicine, functional medicine, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, we examine what your hormonal patterns have actually been telling you and what becomes possible when someone is finally listening (AND know what to do with the information).
🩵
This week's session moves in deliberate sequence. Dr. White establishes the clinical architecture, the foundational map of your hormonal landscape and how it shifts across reproductive life. Tracie Robinson then closes with the herbal framework, the adaptogenic protocols that have supported hormonal balance across centuries of women's healing traditions, brought into conversation with what your body's specific patterns are asking for.
❤️
Three lenses. One coherent picture of your hormonal life... finally made legible.
🩵
"Your cycle has always been data. You were just never taught to how to read it properly." -llw♀️

WEEK 1: You Are Not Broken... Reclaiming Your Narrative
🩵
Theme: Hormonal Intelligence, Integrative Foundations & Psychological Safety
❤️
You came in knowing something was wrong. You were told otherwise. Repeatedly. Week 1 is where that story ends.
🩵
We begin where most medical appointments don't with YOU. Your history. Your timeline. Your body's own language, spoken across years of symptoms, transitions, and moments the system failed to hear. Before we introduce any framework, any protocol, any tool, we create the one thing most women in this program have never been given inside a clinical space: The unhurried, uninterrupted opportunity to tell the truth about their own health.
❤️
From that foundation, we build. We explore the endocrine system not as a problem to be managed, but as an intelligence to be understood through an integrated lens. We examine why hormonal symptoms are so frequently misread, dismissed, and undertreated and what it looks like when they are approached differently.
🩵
We also introduce the operating philosophy that will hold every week of this program together: the Womanist Ethic of Care. The understanding that YOU, not your labs, not your chart, not your last provider's note are the credible authority on your own body.
❤️
This week's session is taught by Dr. White and facilitated by The Odyssey Holistic Health & Wellness and Narobi Mkwalu by Dr. Laurena White. Reclaiming your narrative is not only an intellectual act. It is an energetic one. A somatic one. A spiritual one. And it deserves to be held by the full range of care this ensemble was built to offer.
🩵

🎉 1:45 PM, The Raffle Draw & Close: The room is full in a way it wasn't at 11:00am. Not only fuller in headcount, but also fuller in the way rooms get when something real has happened inside them. The air is different. The faces are different. Women who arrived as strangers are standing in clusters of two and three and five, mid-conversation, passport stamps compared, wine opinions still being debated, something exchanged between them that has no name and that everyone in the room can feel.
🩵
This is what three hours of intentional care looks like when it lands.
❤️
First, Dr. White reveals the winning wine and who will take ALL the bottles home. Then... Dr. Edgerton steps into the center of the great space. "Before we draw," she says, "I want you to take thirty seconds to look around this room. "This," she says quietly, "is exactly what we imagined."
🩵
The Wellness Passports are collected. Not all of them are complete. Some women arrived late. Some women chose depth over breadth. Every completed passport goes into the raffle drawing. Each one represents a person who walked through the doors, said yes, and who let herself be met by different expressions of care.
❤️
Yvette gathers them. Shuffles them with the ceremony the moment deserves. Holds the stack out to Dr. Robinson. She closes her eyes. Reaches in. The room holds its breath in the specific way rooms hold their breath when something is about to change for someone... when luck and preparedness show up and are about to converge in one person's name. Dr. White opens the passport in her hand. She reads the name.
🩵
And the room, this room full of women who came in as strangers and are leaving as something else entirely, erupts. Genuinely. The kind of applause that has joy in it, that has recognition in it, that has a little bit of that could have been me in it and chooses celebration anyway.
❤️
The winner, passport clutched to her chest, eyes wide, somewhere between laughter and tears, is surrounded immediately. Her new circle closes around her. Dr. White crosses the room to take her hand. "Seven weeks... See you in September."

✨ 1:15 PM: Mock Week 1: The Eudaimonia Method... The energy in the main space shifts.
Not dramatically. Not with an announcement or a bell or a formal call to order. It shifts the way energy shifts when something real is about to happen — a subtle gathering, women drifting in from the hallway stations and the wine tasting drawn by something they can't quite name yet. Intuition, maybe. Or simply the recognition that the afternoon is moving toward something and they want to be inside it when it arrives.
🩵
Some find seats on the chairs arranged in a gentle circle. The configuration is intentional. A circle has no hierarchy. Everyone in it is equally centered. Equally seen.
❤️
Oriyomi, Narobi, and Dr. White are already there, seate. Not at a podium. Not elevated. Among.
Oriyomi looks around the circle, smiles, and asks, "What has your body been telling you this week?"
🩵
For the next 30 minutes, something rare happens. The high open house energy recedes. Not because it wasn't real. But because something even more real is asking for the room.
❤️
This is The Eudaimonia Method. And even in its abbreviated, first-taste form, it asks something of the women inside it: Be here now.
🩵
Week 1 in the full program is about foundations. Esablishing the philosophical and personal ground from which seven weeks of integrative work will grow. Today's mock session is a distillation of that: the essential questions, the orienting framework, the first honest look at what brought each woman to the circle and what she is hoping to find there.
❤️
Dr. White begins with a question. "What does YOUR wholeness look like? Not your goals. Not your to-do list. Not what your doctor has told you to work on. What does it look like when you are fully, actually whole?" Oriyomi and Narobi are woven through what follows.
🩵
As a metaphysician, Narobi, reassures you that, "Your body is not broken. It has been under-listened to." Oriyomi and Narobi facilitate the session by briefly sharing how their lived experiences have framed their respective healing journeys.
❤️
The guided discussion and participant exercise ensues when Dr. White asks, "Where did the medical system fail to hear you?"

🍷 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM: The Wine Tasting
🩵
Let's be clear about something. Wellness is not deprivation. Wellness is not restriction dressed up in clean language and served without flavor. Wellness, REAL wellness, whole-person well-being, the kind The Eudaimonia Center was built around, includes pleasure. It includes gathering. It includes the particular magic that happens when women sit together with something good in their glasses and the permission to simply...enjoy.
❤️
In true Eudaimonia Center tradition, YES, there will be wine. 🍷
🩵
Here's how it works: Before you arrive, you were asked to bring two bottles. One for the tasting. One for the grand prize. The limit is $20/bottle... not because we don't believe in the expensive stuff, but because the best tasting is a level playing field. A $200 bottle has nothing to prove here. Neither do you. What matters is what's in the glass.
❤️
When you checked in, your tasting bottle was received, labeled with nothing but its type: red, white, rosé, or something "different" wrapped and numbered, its identity completely protected. It joined the others on the tasting table: a lineup of bottles in their brown paper anonymity, standing at attention like contestants who know the judging is about to begin.
🩵
The tasting table is one of the most joyful places of the open house. It is also, quietly, one of the most disarming. There is something about not knowing that loosens up people. Without a label to defer to, without a price point to anchor your opinion, without a varietal name to tell you what you're supposed to taste, you are left with only your own senses. Your own palate. Your own knowing.
Which is, not coincidentally, exactly what The Eudaimonia Center has been asking you to trust all day.

🌀 11:15 AM – 1:15 PM (Meet the Practitioners).
🩵
She's in there. And she's waiting for you.
Not for a group. Not for a panel. For whoever walks through that door in the next fifteen minutes which might be you, and two other women, or just you alone. Either way, the room was prepared for this moment with the same intentionality as if it were a private appointment. Because at The Eudaimonia Center, that's not a standard. That's a baseline.
❤️
This is how the next two hours work: Every 15 minutes, a new practitioner takes her place in her her space... her energy and her lane of expertise fully present and available. The rooms are not identical. Each one has been arranged to reflect the woman inside it. One smells like herbs and movement. Another holds the particular stillness of a therapy space... soft, unhurried, safe. One hums faintly with sound. Another has food on the table, real food, prepared with intention. Each room is its own world, and each world is an invitation.
You check your Wellness Passport. Seven rooms. Seven stamps. Two hours.
🩵
Inside each room, something specific is happening.
It is not a presentation. There are no slides. No one is performing expertise AT you from behind a desk.
What you find instead is a woman who has spent years, in some cases, decades developing a particular kind of knowing, and who is now sitting across from you, genuinely curious about what brought you here today. She might ask you something. She might show you something. She might invite you to try something... a breath, a movement, a taste, a moment of stillness that gives you a felt sense of her work before either of you has used a single clinical term. You will leave each room knowing something you didn't know when you walked in. Not because you were lectured. Because you were met.
❤️
The Wellness Passport is your map and your companion. At the end of each visit, she "stamps" your passport. It is a small moment and it carries weight. It means you showed up. It means you were curious enough to walk through a door you may never have walked through before. It means that for 15 minutes, you let someone care for a part of you that doesn't always get cared for.🩵

The room doesn't need to be called to order at 11:15am.
🩵
Something shifts naturally, a gentle ripple of awareness moving through the gathered women as Dr. White steps into the center of the great space. Not to a podium. Not behind a lectern. There is no barrier between her and the room. She stands among the women the way you stand among people you already consider yours.
❤️
She doesn't begin with her credentials. She begins with a question. "How many of you have ever left a doctor's appointment feeling worse than when you walked in?"
🩵
The room does what rooms do when someone finally says the the quiet part out loud... it exhales. Hands go up. Eyes meet across the space. A few women laugh the particular laugh of recognition, the one that lives right next to a sigh. She nods. She expected this. She has seen this her entire career. She pauses. Not for effect, for truth.
❤️
"Conventional medicine wasn't built for Black women whose pain gets dismissed. For women whose labs come back 'normal' while their bodies are screaming otherwise. For women who have been handed a prescription when what they needed was someone to stay in the room long enough to actually listen."
🩵
She tells them what the Womanist Ethic of Care means in practice not only as a philosophy, but also as a clinical commitment made every single day by every single person on this team. She introduces the ensemble.. 7women. 7 lanes of expertise. 1 shared conviction. They are the practice because healing is not a single-axis event, and a woman's wholeness cannot be addressed by a single practitioner working alone.
❤️
She is a physician who built something because she believed women deserved better, standing in the middle of the PROOF that it is possible.
🩵
"In about fifteen minutes, I'll be in my room and I want to meet as many of you as I can today. But first, does anyone have a question before we begin?"
❤️
Three hands go up before she finishes the sentence. The room is alive. Something is already happening that no single individual could have created.
🩵
Women are being seen.
❤️

07/26/2026

At 11am, the elevator doors open and you FEEL it before you SEE it.
🩵
Something in the air literally. A diffuser in the entryway is running a grounding blend, something herbaceous and warm that tells your nervous system, without words, that this is a different kind of space.
❤️
You step through the doors of The Eudaimonia Center and the first thing you see is our reception area and a member of our ensemble who is genuinely glad you came. She hands you two things: your Wellness Passport, a beautifully designed booklet that is part field guide, part experience map, and part raffle ticket... AND if you're among the first 50 women through the door, a swag tote filled with curated wellness gifts from our practice. Not promotional filler. Things you'll actually use. Throughout the day, you'll collect "stamps" to fill your passport to automatically enter to win a fully waived enrollment in The Eudaimonia Method ($1,500 value). The passport is your guide.
You take your passport. You take your tote. You exhale. You drop your 2 wine bottles off.
🩵
Healthy mocktails are being passed, looking almost too beautiful to drink. Almost. Finger foods are arranged on a table that Chef Love has clearly thought about: small, flavorful, intentional. Nothing here is accidental.
❤️
The hallway leading to the "great wall" is lined with interactive stations, each one a invitation to pause, touch, learn, notice. The Ask Us Anything box sits at a station with a stack of cards and a pen. You can ask something now or come back to it later. Something about it makes you reach for a card almost immediately. You've have a question. You write it down. You fold it. You let it go. You don't have to engage yet... and you want to.
🩵
Straight ahead, the main gathering space is already humming, not loudly, not frantically, and with the particular energy of women who are relieved to be somewhere that was made for them.
❤️
Right now, in this first warm and unhurried moment, something has already shifted. You can feel it.
You are in the right place.
