What’s the fastest way to relieve shoulder pain? šŸ¤”

Shoulder pain can make everyday activities like reaching overhead, getting dressed, or even sleeping uncomfortable. But finding relief starts with understanding what may be causing the problem.

Muscle tension, tendon irritation, joint restrictions, and movement patterns can all contribute to shoulder discomfort. The right approach depends on identifying the source rather than simply chasing the symptoms.

At Well Adjusted Chiropractic, we look at how your spine, joints, and surrounding tissues work together to help you understand your symptoms and explore appropriate options for relief.

Stop guessing. Start with answers. šŸ’Ŗ

What Sleeping Position Is Best for Sciatica?

When sciatica is already irritated, the wrong sleeping position can make getting comfortable even harder.

While there isn’t one perfect position for everyone, a few adjustments may help reduce unnecessary stress on the lower back:

šŸ›ļø On your back: Try placing a pillow under your knees to reduce tension through the lower back.

ā†”ļø On your side: A pillow between your knees may help keep your hips and pelvis in a more neutral position.

🚫 Stomach sleeping: This position may increase stress on the lower back for some people, especially if it exaggerates the lumbar curve.

But changing your sleeping position doesn’t answer the bigger question:

Why is your sciatic nerve irritated in the first place?

Sciatic symptoms may involve disc problems, nerve irritation, vertebral subluxation, or changes in spinal mechanics.

At Well Adjusted Chiropractic in Arlington, we evaluate spine function, biomechanics, and nervous system involvement to help determine what may be contributing to those symptoms. Chiropractic adjustments and spinal decompression may be considered when appropriate.

Your sleeping position may help you get through the night. Understanding the cause can help determine what comes next.

Why Does Your Back Feel Like a Stiff 2x4? 😣

If your back feels stiff throughout the day, the answer isn’t always ā€œjust stretch more.ā€

Here are 3 possible reasons behind that stiffness:

1ļøāƒ£ Not enough movement — Spending long periods sitting or standing in the same position can leave your back feeling increasingly stiff.

2ļøāƒ£ Muscle imbalances — Weak glutes, tight hip flexors, or reduced activation of the muscles that stabilize your spine can affect how freely you move.

3ļøāƒ£ Spinal or disc-related issues — Joint dysfunction, vertebral subluxation, or disc involvement may trigger muscle guarding, where surrounding muscles tighten to protect an irritated area.

That’s why the better question isn’t simply, ā€œHow do I loosen my back?ā€

It’s ā€œWhy is my back stiff in the first place?ā€

At Well Adjusted Chiropractic in Arlington, we evaluate spine function, movement, and biomechanics to help identify what may be contributing to recurring stiffness — so the next steps are based on what’s actually going on.

Stop guessing at the symptom. Start understanding the cause.

How Can I Tell If My Shoulder Pain Is Serious? šŸ’Ŗ

Shoulder pain after an intense workout or unusual activity may settle down with time. But when discomfort persists, keeps returning, or begins limiting what you can do, it deserves a closer look.

Pay attention to signs like:

• Significant weakness or loss of movement
• Numbness or tingling into the arm or hand
• Pain that keeps getting worse
• Difficulty lifting or reaching overhead
• Pain following a fall or injury
• Symptoms that interfere with sleep or everyday activities

Shoulder pain can involve the joint itself, muscles, tendons, movement mechanics, or even irritation connected to the neck and nervous system.

At Well Adjusted Chiropractic in Arlington, we look beyond where it hurts to evaluate shoulder mechanics, spine function, movement, and potential contributing factors.

Depending on what we find, chiropractic adjustments and other approaches such as shockwave therapy may be considered when appropriate.

Your shoulder is giving you a signal. Find out what may be behind it.

Why Has Chiropractic Care Remained Popular for Over 100 Years? šŸ‘

Chiropractic has changed significantly since its beginnings in 1895, but one idea has remained central across generations: the relationship between the spine, nervous system, movement, and overall function.

Today, people continue to seek chiropractic for many different reasons:

🦓 To better understand how their spine is functioning
🧠 To support healthy nervous system function
šŸƒ To improve mobility and movement
šŸ’Ŗ To address biomechanical dysfunction
🌱 To take a more proactive approach to whole-body wellness

Modern technology and techniques have evolved, but the focus on identifying dysfunction rather than simply ignoring the body's signals continues to resonate with patients.

At Well Adjusted Chiropractic in Arlington, we're proud to carry that history forward while using a modern approach to help people understand what's really going on with their bodies.

More than 100 years of history. Still focused on helping people move and function better.

Is There a Permanent Solution for Lower Back Pain?

When lower back pain keeps returning, the goal shouldn’t be to simply keep finding temporary ways to quiet the symptoms.

The better question is: why does it keep coming back?

Recurring lower back pain may involve several factors, including:

• Changes in spinal mechanics and movement
• Joint dysfunction or vertebral subluxation
• Disc involvement
• Muscle tension or weakness
• Repetitive physical stress
• Postural and movement habits

At Well Adjusted Chiropractic in Arlington, we look beyond where it hurts to help identify what may be contributing to the problem.

Chiropractic adjustments can help address joint and biomechanical dysfunction, while additional approaches such as spinal decompression may be considered when appropriate for certain disc-related conditions.

There isn’t one permanent fix that applies to every person - but understanding the underlying problem is an important step toward longer-lasting function.

Stop chasing temporary relief. Start looking for answers.

Is Technology Slowly Affecting Your Child’s Posture? šŸ“±šŸ’»

For today’s kids, screens are part of everyday life. Schoolwork, phones, tablets, gaming — technology isn’t going anywhere.

But all those hours looking down can add up.

When that posture becomes a daily habit, parents may begin noticing signs like:

šŸ“± Forward head posture
šŸ’» Rounded shoulders
😣 Neck pain or tension
šŸ¤• Recurring headaches
šŸ§ Increasing stiffness or discomfort

And because kids and teenagers are still growing and developing, recurring pain shouldn’t simply be dismissed as ā€œnormal.ā€

At Well Adjusted Chiropractic in Arlington, we look beyond the symptoms by evaluating posture, movement, and spine function to better understand what may be contributing to the problem.

Technology may be part of their future - but poor posture doesn’t have to be.

If your child keeps complaining about neck pain, tension, or headaches, it may be time to get their spine and posture evaluated.

How Did Chiropractic Care Begin? šŸ‘

Chiropractic has been around for more than a century -but the idea behind it remains highly relevant today: how well your spine moves can influence how well your body functions.

Modern chiropractic began in 1895, when D.D. Palmer performed what is widely recognized as the first chiropractic adjustment.

Since then, chiropractic has evolved considerably. Today, chiropractors use physical examinations, movement assessments, imaging when appropriate, and a variety of techniques to better understand spine function and help patients move and function better.

At Well Adjusted Chiropractic in Arlington, we're proud to carry that history forward with a modern approach focused on the spine, nervous system, movement, and whole-body wellness.

More than 130 years later, people are still asking the same important question: What is my body trying to tell me?

What Are the First Signs of Plantar Fasciitis? 🦶

Plantar fasciitis doesn't always start with severe heel pain.

Some of the earliest signs can include:

• Heel discomfort during your first steps in the morning
• Tightness along the bottom of the foot
• Pain after sitting for a long period and standing back up
• Discomfort that increases after walking or activity
• Tenderness around the heel

Your feet are part of a much bigger movement system. Ankle mobility, arch stability, gait, and how your body distributes force with each step may all influence the stress placed on the plantar fascia.

At Well Adjusted Chiropractic in Arlington, we look beyond where it hurts to help you understand what may be contributing to your heel discomfort.

Don't wait for a small signal to become a bigger limitation.
