AACC Public Safety & Police Official page of the AACC Department of Public Safety Public Safety officers patrol the campus via motor vehicle, bicycle and on foot.

The Anne Arundel Community College Department of Public Safety has primary responsibility for campus security and safety at Arnold, Arundel Mills, and Glen Burnie Town Center locations. The Department of Public Safety works closely with all members of the college community, as well as County Police, Fire Department, and local government agencies to ensure a safe and secure educational environment.

Tonight we celebrated the career and retirement of a great leader at AACC, Captain David Pressley. We have the utmost respect for Dave, always the first in and the last to go home. He took his job seriously and was a great example of what police leadership should look like. He genuinely cared about the campus and the people he supervised, and I feel honored to have worked with him. We wish him happiness in his well earned retirement.

On March 18, 2026, during Spring Break, the AACC Department of Public Safety & Police tested the emergency notification systems in the College buildings that are used to notify students, employees, and visitors during an actual emergency. The notifications include audible alarm, flashing strobe lights, voice messaging, and text messages scrolling on computer monitors. These tests are conducted to help ensure the continued safety of our college community. In the event of an actual emergency, you may be directed to:
- Evacuate a building
- Evacuate the campus
- Shelter in place at a designated Severe Weather Shelter Area
- Lockdown in place following the College’s Emergency Lockdown procedures
