Hi, I’m Melanie Martin! I’m originally from Madawaska, Maine, and have a bachelor’s degree in Family and Relationship Counseling. In my free time, I love expressing my creative side through painting and photography. I also love spending time with my partner, Matt, and our two dogs, Jake and Baxter. We especially enjoy getting outside together and exploring different parts of Southern Maine.

Where’d summer go? It’s hard to believe we are saying goodbye to summer + hello to Autumn!

The wonderful thing about Maine is our 4 seasons. There’s always something magical to do.

Today is National Grief Awareness Day. It’s held annually to bring awareness to the complexities of grief. By talking about grief we are spreading awareness around support, help + breaking the stigma around grief.

Here are a few simple ways you can support someone who is grieving:

Just touch base. A simple text or call to let them know you care.

A quiet invitation to get a bite to eat or go for a walk.

Sending some home cooked goodies is always helpful + a small gesture that you are there!

There’s no right or wrong way to grieve. Everyone grieves in their own way, in their own time. Being present, patient + supportive is the best way we can sit with those who are grieving.

We are honored to offer a variety of compassionately priced funeral services for our community. We believe everyone should be remembered with integrity, care + dignity.

Our basic services include transfer of the decedent into our care, meeting with the family to obtain necessary information for death certificate, filing of death certificate, and handling the obituary including submission to paper (additional cost from paper for publication).

We would like to thank all our veterans who served our country. We feel we owe them great gratitude. We consider it an honor to be able to assist Veterans and families of Veterans with burial benefits.

We complete, and file all applications for such items as Markers, Flags, approval for burial in a VA cemetery, and reimbursement for funeral cost for eligible veterans from the VA. We also help in obtaining other memorial items such as Presidential Memorial Certificates, medallions, and military funeral honors.

Our funeral home will assist families with veterans benefits even if we were not involved in the care of the veteran after they passed.
