Many women are surprised when they start leaking urine during workouts even though they've never been pregnant or had a baby. Here at Movement Physio and Wellness, we want you to know that urinary leakage is not just a postpartum issue!

Your pelvic floor muscles work together with your core, diaphragm, and hips to manage pressure inside your abdomen during movement. High-impact activities like running, jumping, lifting weights, or even intense core exercises can create more pressure than your pelvic floor is able to handle efficiently. This can happen if the muscles are weak, overly tight, poorly coordinated, or not responding at the right time.

The good news? Leaking during exercise is common, but it's not normal and it's not something you have to live with. A pelvic floor physical therapy evaluation can help identify the root cause and create a personalized treatment plan so you can get back to exercising confidently!

💡If this is a symptom that is getting in the way of your everyday life, our advice is to book a FREE 30-min In-Person Consultation at our clinic to meet us and get a feel for our approach! Call us today at 720-500-7450

Teachers, this one’s for you! 🍎 As pelvic floor therapists, one thing we've noticed over the years is that teachers often struggle with bladder leaks, urgency, and other pelvic floor symptoms more than many other professions. Spending the day holding your bladder and skipping bathroom breaks can keep your pelvic floor muscles in a constant state of tension, which may contribute to leaking, urgency, and difficulty emptying your bladder.

The good news? Pelvic floor PT can help. As a thank you for all you do, teachers receive $50 off their first evaluation through 6/30/26. Mention you're a teacher at your first visit to claim your discount!
