Sieber Psychotherapy

Sieber Psychotherapy Providing Mental Health and Wellness Counseling in Denver, Colorado. My approach to therapy is interactive, directive and educational.

I will give you feedback and help you learn positive coping skills, change unhealthy thinking patterns, and learn to enjoy healthy relationships. Through counseling you may begin to find that you have more choices and more control over your life. You will learn practical skills which you can use on a daily basis to make life more fulfilling. Through the therapy process, you can create healthier re

lationships, learn to make concious decisions, and regain the ability to enjoy your life. I primarily use a Cognitive-Behavioral approach which focuses on the impact that your thoughts have upon emotions and behavior. We work together to change those thinking patterns which then improves your mood. I will also work with you to change negative behaviors, be more in control, and make better choices.

What if understanding your symptoms could open the door to a different path forward?

If you’re living with chronic pain or other persistent symptoms, learning about neuroplasticity could provide a new way to make sense of what you’re experiencing. That understanding can be the beginning of healing.

While surgery is appropriate and necessary in some cases, it’s not always the answer. When no ongoing structural cause is found, learning about the brain and nervous system may help explain why symptoms persist and what evidence-based approaches to recovery can look like.

Knowledge is a powerful first step.

Researchers are finding proof of this and have mapped where this nocebo effect is taking place. Pain Reprocessing can help change this!

In this study, the authors find that environmental and socially transmitted pain expectations engage a shared cortico-midbrain circuit in which anterior cingulate cortex cholecystokinin projections to the lateral periaqueductal gray drive nocebo pain behavior in mice.
