Why Muscle is the Ultimate Executive "Physiologic Reserve"
As a Geriatrician, I often see high-performers focus solely on cardiovascular health or cognitive sharpness. But there is a silent metabolic engine we frequently overlook: Skeletal Muscle.
In the clinical world, muscle is more than just strength; it is Metabolic Armor. It serves as your body’s largest "glucose sink" and acts as a primary defense against Inflammaging—the chronic, low-grade inflammation that accelerates cellular decline.
Without preserving this lean mass, we risk Sarcopenia (muscle loss), which directly impacts our resilience, metabolic stability, and long-term independence.
