I didn’t know it at the time, but this turned out to be the last photo I ever took of Sweet Tucker.
On Wednesday, my baby boy, the love of my life, my Sweet Tucker, died. He died as peacefully as he lived, never seeming agitated, distressed, or in pain. It is presumed that his liver mass ruptured, leading him to quickly bleed out internally. He was fine until he wasn’t, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way for him to go. He had been resting comfortably, watching me work, as he had done so many times before. If I hadn’t noticed a change in his breathing, he would have passed away peacefully on the office floor, watching over me. His labored breathing was subtle, not distressed, not gasping, not fighting, just peacefully easing into death. He seemed ready, which has brought me immeasurable comfort. My sweet perfect boy was looking after me until the very end.
I will never have words to express the uninhibited devotion we had to one another. I will never be able to verbalize the impact he had on me and so many others.
My sweet boy, my hero, my baby, you saved me a million times over. I am me because of you. Momma loves you more than anything in the world. Thank you for being mine. ❤️
