A little reminder from Pachamama, Mother Nature… that we are never separate from the magic✨

Today, we had the most incredible encounter right in our backyard, a mama bear and her cub, climbing down from a tree just a few feet away from our house 🐻🌿

I named them Luna and Star🌙⭐️

There is something about Asheville that I still struggle to put into words. The energy of these mountains. The rivers, the waterfalls, the forests. The incredible people. The deep sense of community. The way nature seems to speak if we slow down enough to listen.

I have lived in many beautiful places, but Asheville feels different. It feels alive. It feels sacred. It feels like home. 💚

Moments like this remind me that we are not separate from nature, we are nature. We are made of the same elements, connected to the same Earth, under the same moon and stars. 🌎✨

Perhaps Luna and Star were simply passing through our backyard…

Or perhaps they were a little reminder from the Universe that we are all part of something much greater than ourselves.

Grateful beyond words to call this magical place home. 🙏🏼🌙🐻⭐️

Today I had the honor of hosting a webinar with a dear friend on The Art of Self-Care.

I call it an art because self-care isn’t something that happens by accident. It requires intention. Discipline. Awareness. Devotion. It asks us to create space for the practices that keep us healthy, grounded, and connected to our soul.

During the conversation, my friend asked me:

“Sandy, why do you think it’s easier for people to take care of others than it is to take care of themselves?”

My answer was simple: conditioning.

From a very young age, many of us are taught to put others first. We are praised for sacrificing, giving, helping, and serving. Yet very few of us are taught the value of nurturing our own mind, body, and spirit.

Somewhere along the way, self-care became confused with selfishness 🤯

And because of that, many people feel guilty for resting.
Guilty for saying no.
Guilty for creating boundaries.
Guilty for making themselves a priority.

But what if we change that?

What if we normalize self-care?

What if we create space every day to nourish our mind, strengthen our body, and reconnect with our soul?

What if we view mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being not as luxuries, but as necessities?

The truth is, it’s often easier to care for everyone else than it is to care for ourselves.

It takes awareness to recognize that we, too, deserve the love, attention, and compassion we so freely give away.

Because the reality is this:

You cannot pour from an empty cup.
You cannot guide others when you’ve lost connection with yourself.
And you cannot sustainably care for those you love if you are running on empty.

Self-care is not selfish.

It is an act of self-respect.
A spiritual practice.
A declaration that your well-being matters too.

And when you choose to care for yourself, everyone around you benefits from the healthiest, most authentic version of you.

About last night… 🚗🎤💫

Singing at the top of my lungs in the car? Heck yeah! 🎶✨

One of the unexpected gifts of expanding your consciousness is realizing how little energy you have left for worrying about what other people think.

The tighter the grip of the ego, the harder it is to be yourself.

The freer you become, the more spontaneous, playful, and alive life feels.

You stop performing and start expressing.

You stop seeking approval and start choosing joy.

You stop shrinking and start becoming the fullest expression of who you came here to be.

Human… overcoming your fears.
Spiritual… yet full of joy.
Aware… of your creativity & creation.
Intentional… with your own energy.
Conscious… about your actions & reactions.

No taboos.
No self-imposed limitations.
Just pure loving awareness dancing, laughing, singing, and moving through this beautiful vehicle we call the human body.

So yes… I will keep singing in the car like nobody’s watching. Because bliss sounds a lot better than self-judgement.

I am sure you sign in the car as well, so what’s your fav song to sing in the car?

Some days I train my body.
Other days… I train my soul.

Some days it’s the burn of muscles, the discipline, the sweat.

Other days it’s sitting with my emotions, regulating my nervous system, choosing grace.

I’ve come to realize that not all strength is visible.

Some of the most important muscles we’ll ever build are emotional, spiritual, and mental.

The ability to pause instead of being impulsive.
To feel instead of suppress.
To soften instead of harden.
To meet ourselves with compassion and extend that same grace to others.

For a long time, I believed my role in this lifetime was defined by titles, the work I do, the relationships I hold, the roles I play.

But in recent years, something deeper revealed itself.

My most important work… is to work on myself.

Tending to my past.
Healing my wounds.
Facing the parts of myself I once avoided.
Learning how to love, regulate, and understand myself on a deeper level.

Because the more I do that, the more I show up differently for myself, and for everyone around me.

This is the real workout 🏋️ the spiritual one that heals generations before me and ahead of me.

The one that doesn’t always get seen or celebrated.

The one that asks for presence, honesty, and courage.

And this is the strength that allows us to carry life even its heaviest moments with grace, love and light ✨

If you are one of those people that is doing the inner work I see you and I feel you. You are not alone!

I love this feeling. The burn, the challenge, the quiet strength building underneath it all. Even when I’m questioning everything about waking up at 5:00 am to go to the GYM vs doing my meditation.

But honestly, the GYM does feel meditative to me. So does gardening and singing at the top of my lungs when I am driving.

We’re multifaceted beings. We can be seeking enlightenment and still fully enjoy the messy, human, joyful parts of life. Don’t let anyone put you in a box.

Growth isn’t always graceful… sometimes it’s just you, the weights at the GYM, or your mat, or your garden, or what ever may be that sets your heart on fire ❤️‍🔥☀️❤️‍🔥

The key is to remember to keep that feeling alive!
