Haaay. I reckon I’ll do a “Meet The Maker” post since I haven’t in years (+ a buncha new followers this week).
I’m Marion. 🌸
I started making ghee after my first baby was born (13.5 years ago). A couple years later (+ another baby) I began making some extra jars to sell locally - with no business plan or startup funds. I was driven by a genuine love of ghee + survival (I was headed for single motherhood and needed to create income that I could do alongside my little ones).
It just so happened I made exceptional ghee and people were happy to give me money for it. YAY. 🤗
Several years later (and a LOT of work) I became able to mostly manage my business from home by employing a small team of women to help me. This freed me up to be more present with my children, which I’m so grateful for.
Some more years later I had another baby, became a single mom *again* 😭 (follow for food related advice, NOT relationship advice ☠️), and survived our office drowning in Helene (thanks to the generosity of our customers).
Now, 11 years in, I’m back in the kitchen each week, working the farmers markets, and running the social media (typing this all out by hand because I don’t trust Ai). And I’m enjoying it. I’m truly so grateful to get to nourish people for a living.
Some interesting (and incriminating) facts about me:
* We live in a yurt! 5 years in and still loving it. The best part is: No mortgage 💸 No rent 💸
* I freebirthed all 3 of my babies at home and am passionate about birth and attachment based parenting.
* My 2nd and 3rd never wore a single diaper - I went all in with Elimination Communication (it works!).
* I’m homeschooling my t(w)eens and now they’re helping with the business (aka their inheritance).
* After a decade of calling it Goddess Ghee I changed the name to Good News Ghee to align with a return to my Christian faith. 🫶🏽
Thank you for being here.
Every like, comment, word of encouragement, share (whether on here or with your friends in person), and purchase REALLY MATTERS to me and my lil family.
I’d love to hear from you if you read this far. Say hey, ask me something, share a memory, or tell me how the ghee has impacted you. 🤍
