A Seasonal Note on Why Spring Cleansing Is Ancient and Intelligent
Across cultures and generations, spring has always been a time of clearing and renewal.
As the weather warms, the first plants to emerge are often bitter greens- dandelion, mustard greens, watercress, chicory, and young nettles. These plants weren’t chosen by tradition at random. Their bitter taste naturally stimulates digestion, bile flow, and elimination- exactly what the body needs after winter’s slower, heavier rhythms.
Bitterness signals the body to wake up digestive and detoxification processes. It encourages movement where there has been stagnation and supports the systems responsible for clearing what’s no longer needed.
Long before modern terminology existed, people understood this simple truth:
when the environment changes, the body must be supported in changing with it.
The Spring Reset follows this same seasonal intelligence- using food, herbs, and clinical guidance to work with the body’s natural timing rather than against it.
