☀️ Congratulations to Leslie Ambler, PT, director of admissions for CarePartners Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital and our first Sunshine Award recipient!

We were proud to introduce the Sunshine Award during our recent Honoring Excellence Awards Ceremony. This new award recognizes leaders who help others grow, encourage their teams and create a workplace where people can thrive.

Leslie's nomination described a leader who sees the best in people and helps them see it in themselves. Whether she's celebrating a teammate's success, encouraging others through challenges or simply brightening the room with her positive attitude, Leslie makes a lasting impact on everyone around her.

Congratulations, Leslie, on this well-deserved honor. Thank you for making CarePartners a brighter place for your team, our patients and our community. ☀️💛

Every minute matters during a stroke. Fast care can help protect brain function and lower the risk of long-term disability.

That’s why door-to-needle time — or DTN time — is so important. It’s the time it takes a patient with an ischemic stroke to receive clot-busting medication (“needle”) after arriving at the hospital (“door”).

We're proud to be part of HCA Healthcare, a leader in stroke care. Our teams follow proven best practices to help patients get safe, high-quality treatment when they need it most. Those efforts have helped achieve an average DTN time of 32 minutes across Mission Health hospitals — over 45% faster than the national standard.

For most of his life, Tom's voice carried him around the world.

As a professional opera singer, he performed throughout the United States, Germany and South America.

But after years of health challenges, Tom's voice grew so weak that people often couldn't hear him when he talked.

"It was psychologically devastating," he said. "My voice is a big part of my identity."

Tom was referred to CarePartners Outpatient Rehabilitation, where he worked with a speech-language pathologist to strengthen his voice, improve his breath support and rebuild his confidence.

Today, Tom is back to filling his home with music, one practice session at a time.

"I have it back," he said. "I have to work on it constantly, but I have it back."

This is why we do what we do. We're thankful for the opportunity to help people reconnect with the passions that bring meaning to their lives.

Lung cancer screening can help find cancer early — often before symptoms begin. If you’re 50 to 80 and meet at least one of the screening criteria shown here, you may be eligible for a low-dose CT scan, a type of X-ray that screens your lungs. If you have Medicare, you must be 50 to 77 to qualify. Swipe for more about screening guidelines.

As part of HCA Healthcare, we can connect you to more resources, more solutions and more possibilities for your care. Through the HCA Healthcare Sarah Cannon Cancer Network, you have access to personalized, coordinated cancer care close to home, should you ever need it.

If you have questions about screening, you can find a primary care doctor near you and schedule an appointment: https://bit.ly/4xdBNJK

The CarePartners PACE day center was transformed into a beachside paradise as participants and team members celebrated Beach Week together!

Everyone got into the spirit by dressing in their favorite beach attire, from sun hats and tropical shirts to flip-flops and bright summer colors. The week was filled with laughter, friendly competition and plenty of fun as participants enjoyed beach-themed games, great music and time together with friends.

At CarePartners PACE, we love creating opportunities for connection and joy, and Beach Week was a wonderful reminder that you don't have to travel to the coast to enjoy a day at the beach!

After losing two adult sons in less than two years, the weight of grief was already more than anyone should have to bear. Then, while unloading dog food from the back of his truck, Lance Moore suffered a widowmaker heart attack.

After receiving emergency care, Lance came to CarePartners Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital.

"The first day I woke up at CarePartners, I felt like I was crawling out of the grave," Lance said. "They don't let you quit at CarePartners. They saved my life."

After returning home, Lance connected with the CarePartners Hospice Bereavement Services team.

Together with a bereavement counselor, he helped develop a new child-loss support group so parents facing a similar loss have a place to share their stories, honor their children and know they don't have to navigate grief alone.

CarePartners Hospice Bereavement Services offers support groups and grief education classes for anyone in the community, regardless of whether their loved one received hospice care. Learn more about available programs at: https://bit.ly/3Rwxqdt

Some people leave a mark that can never be measured, and Noré Hunter is one of them.

Congratulations to Noré, RN and home health educator, on receiving the DAISY Award.

Whether she was teaching a new skill, encouraging a teammate or making sure a patient had exactly what they needed, Noré always found a way to help. She has been a trusted mentor, a generous teacher and someone her colleagues could always count on.

As Noré prepares to retire on July 22, this award is a beautiful tribute to the difference she has made in the lives of patients, families and coworkers.

Congratulations, Noré. Thank you for everything. You will be deeply missed. 💙🌼
