Being a fully remote team means our daily "office" is a grid of video tiles. But a few times a year, we trade the screens for real-life connection, and one of those gatherings is at our annual spring retreat.
While it’s easy to focus solely on the bottom line, we believe the "unseen" benefits of bringing people together are actually our greatest assets. Here’s what we took away from our time together:
Connection is the foundation: Strengthening our personal relationships makes every chat message and project smoother for the rest of the year.
Learning is multidirectional: We ditched the top-down lectures. Instead, every team member gave an individual presentation, proving that everyone is responsible for contributing to the collective wisdom of the whole.
Fun is a metric: It’s okay to invest in your team just for the sake of joy. Time together outside of work is the glue of a cohesive, collaborative culture.
Investing in your team doesn't always need a direct "ROI" attached to a spreadsheet. Sometimes, the best investment is simply giving your people the space to be human together.
We’re heading back to our home offices with full hearts, fresh ideas, and a stronger bond than ever.
