The holistic approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine takes into account the interconnected systems of the body🤲

While symptoms are certainly taken into account, finding the root of what led to the development of a condition is a priority. This allows providers to treat the root (cause) and the branch (symptoms) throughout your healing journey utilizing a variety of modalities throughout each treatment 🤲

Whether you are pursuing natural conception, medicated or unmedicated IUI, or IVF, acupuncture visits offer the body excellent support. If possible, receiving weekly acupuncture for 3-6 months prior to conception boosts egg quality, ovulatory function, hormonal balance, supports implantation, and reduces medication side effects.

If you want to learn more about how acupuncture can help your fertility journey, we would love to connect with you! 🤲

Have you heard of Moxibustion? 🔥

This Chinese Medicine practice uses dried mugwort (moxa) that is burned and placed on or near the body to promote the flow of blood and qi. 🌱

Receiving moxibustion treatment often feels like a sudden warming sensation throughout your body that offers relaxation while relieving pain, minimizing cold and dampness in the body, improving digestion and strengthening your immune system.

👉 Did you know Moxibustion had all these benefits? If you’d like to experience the warmth and benefits of Moxibustion or just want to know more, we’d love to connect with you!

Traditional Chinese Medicine has been used to support hormonal health and fertility for thousands of years. With such a long and successful history, TCM offers many practices to support your fertility 🤲

👇 Here are 5 practices you can use to support fertility

✨ Acupuncture: this beneficial treatment regulates your menstrual cycle, supports hormonal health and offers preconception care all the way through postpartum care.

✨ Warming your feet: the meridians deeply connected to reproductive health begin on the foot, making keeping your feet warm especially important during menstruation or for supporting fertility.

✨ Breathing exercises: Bao Mai breathwork supports fertility because it improves the energetic flow between the organs, specifically heart, ovaries and kidney.

✨ Dietary support: prioritizing a balanced diet of warm foods, protein, complex carbohydrates and hydration supports your reproductive system and fertility.

✨ Herbal medicine: Chinese herbs assist the reproductive system and support the body throughout preconception.

A therapeutic goal of Traditional Chinese Medicine is to bring balance to the body ⚖️

👉 Tracking your basal body temperature (BBT), allows your practitioner to see where there may be disruptions or imbalances at various stages of your cycle. It offers a snapshot of what is happening and offers insight into previous cycles and ovulatory patterns.

🌡️ When your temperature is too low or too high, it is a sign that something is out of balance. BBT tracking also helps detect issues that may be occurring in your follicular or luteal phases. These issues can indicate potential issues for conception that can be addressed through acupuncture and herbal medicine.

👉 If you are interested in learning more about tracking your cycle to optimize your chances at conception, we have a great blog on our website, “Tracking Your Fertile Days”. Click the link in our bio to read our blog!

TCM for Cycle Support👇

In TCM we use several tools to help determine what is happening in your body, this includes palpation along channels or over the abdomen, looking at your tongue, taking your pulse and tracking changes in your cycle each phase.

👉Our menstrual cycle is one of the best tools we have to track these changes on a daily basis. We view the first half of your cycle as yin and the second half as yang.

👉Our follicular phase is dominated by yin and blood and estrogen is a dominant hormone in this phase.

👉Ovulation requires ample qi to allow for ovulation to occur and transformation from the yin phase to the yang phase.

👉Luteal phase is the yang phase of the cycle and dominated by the hormone progesterone.

🤲If your cycle is irregular, Chinese medicine can help by using acupuncture, herbs, dietary changes and lifestyle adjustments to help the body regulate.
