When I was born my mother claims that I came out of the womb, looked at the doctor and said “what are you doing here?” 😆

As I grew up and began making my own health and medical choices it was homebirth, homeopathy, herbalism, nutrition, naturopathy, acupuncture and energy medicine for me. Ironically it turns out that many of my closest friends are medical doctors or naturopaths, and as I've aged I've come to appreciate the value of both persuasions of medicine.

Let's talk about the balance between western medicine and energy medicine, and the attitudes we hold about each of them. We'll also talk about any investment we may have in “proving" energy medicine to our friends and family, and if we hold an ideal of perfect health that may not actually exist.

Energy Medicine Can't “Fix” Everything

Energy Medicine is an incredible boon to living a life of health and vitality, but no matter how consistently you do the Daily Energy Routine, you are not immune from the myriad of circumstances that are part and parcel of the human condition. S**t happens--and sometimes Western/allopathic medicine has a remedy for that (at the very least it can be helpful for diagnostics).

Over the years I have encountered many an energy aficionado who seems disappointed or even embarrassed when they have a condition that energy medicine alone doesn’t seem to be shifting.

New practitioners sometimes worry that if they get sick it will discredit the wonders of energy medicine that they’ve been touting. Let’s talk about the pressure we put on ourselves to prove the efficacy of energy medicine by being a model of perfect health, and instead become a model of a healthy relationship between natural healing and allopathic medicine.
