I personally don't care for AI in general, and really don't care for it the way it's being used (without proper guardrails and regulations) in healthcare.

The goal should NOT be to automate clinical services or increased clinical demand for providers. Hence the reason we need regulations on its use, especially its use in healthcare settings.

Particularly, as if this already bad the way it is, this pi**es me off:
"They really just want us to be seeing people back to back to back, to be seeing more people for less time with less resources.”

This doesn't make sense. No for us as providers. And not for the clients/patients we serve.

I hate health insurance. Anyone who knows me isn't surprised by that. I hate it both as a member that is now paying $823/month for commercial insurance through spouse's employer 😒🤯 AND as a healthcare provider who accepts insurance at my practice.

A colleague posted this today on LinkedIn:

"Every year, I dig into the earnings reports of the seven largest for-profit health insurance conglomerates.

Here’s what they show for 2025:
• Nearly $1.7 trillion in revenue — $175 billion more than in 2024
• More than $54 billion in profits
• 10 million fewer people covered than the year before

At the same time, these companies continued steering more patients — and their premiums — into physician practices, clinics, and pharmacy operations they now own. They also took in record amounts of taxpayer dollars.

Consider this:
UnitedHealthcare now gets more than 77% of its revenue from government programs — even though it covers almost twice as many people in commercial plans. All of its enrollment growth since 2015 has come from Medicare Advantage and Medicaid. Commercial enrollment? Down.

Meanwhile, UnitedHealth Group now classifies about 27% of its revenue as “intercompany eliminations” — a percentage that rises each year as more care is funneled into its Optum subsidiaries. Revenue and government dependence up but commercial enrollment down.

If you want to understand where American health care is headed, start with the financial filings. I’ve broken it all down in my latest pieces."

When things are sh*tty, overwhelming, or in chaos—I create things.

Mostly because I want to see color and fun and calm when it’s otherwise hard to find.

So I created this. For myself and for others. Who need to find a little bit of solace, when it’s otherwise hard to find. ♥️

DM if you want to purchase a copy (digital or physical). For yourself. Or perhaps for others.
