September is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month.
Five cancers fall under that heading — cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar. Cervical cancer is the one we can do the most about. Regular Pap and HPV testing finds changes years before they become cancer, and the HPV vaccine prevents most cases outright.
At Aspen Community Health, Pap tests are free for women ages 21–64 who are uninsured or underinsured and at or below 250% of the federal poverty level, through our partnership with Colorado's Women's Wellness Connection. We also offer HPV vaccination and colposcopies.
If you're overdue, or you've never been, we'd be glad to see you. Care is confidential, and no one is turned away for inability to pay.
