Someone apologized yesterday for telling me how much they miss George. Please don’t apologize. I love hearing the stories. I miss him too, and I didn’t even know him the way so many people in Aspermont did. I wish life had worked out differently and I’d had the chance to work for George and Denise while they traveled. Even though I never got that chance, I’ve learned more from him than most people would think you could learn from someone who has passed away. Sometimes Denise will tell me, “George did it this way,” and it usually doesn’t take me long to figure out why. I know I’ll never fill George’s shoes, and I’m not trying to. I’m here to be me, to take care of the families, to learn from the example he left behind and to honor the legacy he left behind. I’m also 100% convinced he picks on me. The garage door will close halfway and open again ten times. The hearse will randomly start blasting “Our God Is an Awesome God,” and it only does that to me. Then there are his notes that I’m pretty sure he wrote in Chinese, and the hundred things a day I wish I could ask him. Of course, I pay him back by parking the hearse crooked and vacuuming in a star pattern, because I know both would drive him crazy. I’m so thankful to work with Denise. Please keep sharing your George stories. I know they mean a lot to her, and so many of them give me a good laugh, too. ❤️
Blessings,
