Love seeing these communication boards at our local parks! Thank you West Liberty Parks and Recreation!

As it warms up this week, make sure to check out our new communication board installation at Kimberly Park! Boards like these have so many benefits, including promoting inclusion, ensuring accessibility, and creating learning opportunities for people of all ages. A big thank you goes out to the West Liberty Community School District for their help throughout the entire process!

Niabi Zoo is hosting a sensory inclusion day! If you need help getting a flyer, let me know!

Niabi Zoo is hosting our
1st Annual
Sensory Inclusion Day!
Wed., April 27th,10 am to 5 pm

This is a private event reserved for those with unique sensory needs and their families.

Niabi Zoo is very excited to work with our community and create opportunities for those with different needs. There are many concerns about the time and day of this first event, and we hear that! The intention for this very first Sensory Inclusion Day was to first gather information about interest in our community for such an event, and to host a smaller event the first time during the week to identify and resolve any possible issues. Furthermore, Niabi’s intention is to hold more events such as this in the future with more inclusive times or days once we have worked together to “iron out” any issues. This is an exciting opportunity as it will hopefully lead to many more events moving forward!

Niabi Zoo will be closed to the general public on this day.

Admission is only available to those who arrive at the Zoo with a full Sensory Inclusion Day flyer.

Please contact Frankie Byczynski (Randle) at [email protected] for details on how to obtain your admission flyer;

Admission rates are below:
Adults (ages 13-61) = $9.00
Seniors (ages 62+) = $8.00
Military (all active personnel) = $8.00
Children (ages 3-12) = $6.50
Children (ages 2 and under) = Free

I apologize for how quiet I have been and not updating you all with news as I receive it. I feel I have provided too much excitement before I was able to deliver. I never imagined just how much time would be required and the hoops I would jump through to be able to bring services to the area. I have a new post on our blog with some updated info and hope you are just as excited as I am about some tangible progress! Take a look now!

I have been quiet for a long time as disappointment set in while getting credentialed with insurance companies. I believe in transparency, so I would like to update you with what has been happening....

I will start out with an interview with the parents/guardians and the child to determine their strengths and goals for treatment. A skill-based assessment will be completed and I will develop a treatment plan in collaboration with your family. From there, we will come up with a schedule that meets everyone's needs.
