1. "I have to be flexible to start yoga."
Yoga isn't a flexibility competition. Your body will open up over time, and you don't need to be able to touch your toes to reconnect with yourself on the mat.

2. "I need expensive equipment to fit in."
You don’t need a fancy mat to get started-- you can find them for less than $15! Don’t have one yet? No worries. We have extra mats available at the studio, so all you need to do is show up.

3. "I'll get judged for taking breaks or modifications."
Yoga is a radically accepting practice. Every modification, every rest, every breath, it all counts. Honor what your body needs.

4. "Yoga is just a workout."
Yoga is so much more. It calms your mind, restores your spirit, and creates space for you to heal and reconnect with yourself.

5. "I don't have the right clothes."
You may see videos online of classes where everyone is in perfect matching sets, but all yoga asks of you is to show up and be present, no matter what that looks like. Wear what's comfortable and come as you are.
