Fall 2026 Fluency Disorders ✔️ COMPLETE! 🖤 ❤️ 🐾
The second years, Dr. Santus, five days, a whole lot of learning, and countless opportunities to grow as clinicians! Congrats to our second year CMSD graduate students who completed their graduate level intensive fluency disorders course.
Throughout the course, students explored:
🗣️ Evaluation and treatment of preschoolers, school age children, adolescents, and adults who stutter
🗣️ Evaluation and treatment of persons who clutter
🧠 Evaluation and treatment of adult onset and acquired dysfluencies
🔎 Differential diagnosis and clinical decision making
🧰 Evidence based assessment and treatment approaches
💬 Counseling, communication, and person-centered care
📚 Development of a fluency resource binder to support future clinical practice
And let’s not forget to celebrate another accomplishment: our students earned 10 clock hours in the evaluation and treatment of fluency disorders! 👏
Second years, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching this course is watching you move beyond learning about fluency disorders and begin thinking like clinicians. As you head into your clinical placements and internships, take your curiosity, compassion, clinical skills, and growing confidence with you. I’m so excited to see the clinicians you become and the difference you will make for these populations. –Dr. S
