We need to take the mental health of our youth seriously.
Childhood trauma doesn’t always show up immediately. As children move through adolescence and young adulthood—especially between 14 and 24—the effects of earlier experiences can become more visible.
Anxiety. Anger. Depression. People-pleasing. Unhealthy relationships. Low self-worth. Difficulty regulating emotions.
Sometimes what looks like a “behavior problem” is actually a young person struggling with something they don't know how to put into words.
Our children need safe adults who listen, teach healthy coping skills, model emotional regulation, and remind them that asking for help is not weakness.
Supporting their mental health now can change the trajectory of their entire adulthood.
Pay attention. Listen. Be their safe place. Be a safe adult.
