Berlin Center Pommern Library is open to the public for genealogy research this Saturday, May 9, 2026. if you are of German heritage in Marathon and Lincoln Counties this is a great place to research!

Take County L from K south of Merrill or north from Wausau. Go west until you see the Immigrant Marker sign. Turn left on Berlin Lane. Go south to the Berlin Center.

Our 2nd Pommern Youth Heritage Day will be held this Saturday, April 25th from 9am to Noon at the Berlin Center in Naugart. We’re excited to share these hands on activities: Who are our Ancestors and Why did they come here?;Using a Passport; Making Apfel Strudel; Building your Family Tree; Where is Pomerania? German Language; Sangen & Sprechen; Weaving & May Baskets; Quilting Bee. We’ll raise our Mai Pole with our Pommern Danz Groupe!

Last call for Yourh Heritage Day registrations! This special day on Saturday April 25, from 9-Noon is for youth in grades 1-6 and will focus understanding ancestor immigration to Marathon and Lincoln Counties, hands on learning involving cooking, weaving, quilting, building a family tree, raising a May Pole, weaving a May basket simple speech and counting in German. Held at the Berlin Center in Naugart on Berlin Lane. Sponsored and led by the Pomerscher Verein of Central Wisconsin. Get on board by texting or calling 715-820-3092 ASAP. All nationalities welcome!

Our Verein met Sunday at the Berlin Center. Our guest speaker was Jim Yagow . He shared the history of “Old Lutherans “ - among earliest immigrants to WI (184o’s)and the Midwest, who left their homeland primarily for religious reasons. Many helped develop the denominations of the Lutheran Church we are familiar with today.
