This is a great infographic from highlighting general healing timelines for different types of injuries.

Understanding expected healing time frames is one of the most powerful parts of rehab. It helps set realistic expectations and guides the rehabilitation process. Healing isn't always linear, and every person progresses at a different pace. Knowing the biology behind tissue healing can be so helpful for recovery.

🧠 Alzheimer's & Exercise: Does Gender Matter?

A recent review suggests women may experience greater cognitive benefits from exercise than men when living with Alzheimer's disease.

🏃‍♀️ Aerobic exercise was associated with improvements in memory, attention, and executive function in women, while men showed smaller gains. Women also appeared to experience greater reductions in anxiety and depression.

Why? Exercise supports brain health by increasing BDNF, reducing inflammation, and promoting healthy brain connectivity. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a vital protein that promotes the health, growth, and maintenance of neurons.

Although there is a difference between genders, exercise does continue to be one of the most powerful tools we have to support brain health and healthy aging.

This weekend on Saturday, our Granite Point PT team enjoyed an afternoon on Lake Pend Oreille with staff, family, and friends aboard Lake Pend Oreille Cruises for our Annual Summer Staff Party.

We're thankful for the opportunity to spend time together outside of the clinic and appreciate the incredible team that makes Granite Point such a great place to work.

MRI Findings Don’t Always Equal the Cause of Pain..

It’s common to hear terms like “labral tear,” “impingement,” or “degeneration” after an MRI and assume that’s the main source of the problem. But research continues to show that many of these findings are also present in people who have no pain, no limitations, and are functioning at a high level.

What does this mean?

✅ Imaging findings should be interpreted alongside your symptoms, movement, strength, function, and overall clinical presentation.

✅ Many structural changes seen on MRI can be a normal part of aging, activity, or individual anatomy—not necessarily something that needs to be "fixed."

✅ The goal is to treat the person, not just the image.

Employee Spotlight: Josie Speer 🔦

Meet Josie, our Patient Care Coordinator at the Athol clinic!

A lifelong North Idaho resident, Josie brings a unique blend of compassion, organization, and attention to detail to our team. With a background in implementation, sales, and analytics, she is dedicated to creating a positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. Her warm personality and genuine care help make people feel welcomed, heard, and supported from day one.

When she's not at the clinic, you'll find Josie spending time with her Golden Retriever, Poppy, traveling, or volunteering as a barista at her church's café.

We're grateful to have Josie on our team and appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and positivity she brings to GP.
