Therapists, quick question: Have you ever completed EMDR Basic Training but still felt like you needed more practice or clarity to really feel confident using it?

You’re not alone.

I’m hosting a 12-Hour EMDR Refresher: EMDR For The Culture, focused on working with racial trauma impacting Black clients.

This training is designed for EMDR-trained clinicians who want to revisit the protocol, deepen their understanding, and actually practice the skills again in a supportive learning space.

What we’ll cover:
• Review of all 8 phases of EMDR
• Neurobiology and AIP foundations
• The historical context of anti-Black racism and clinical implications
• Culturally relevant BLS options
• 6.5 hours of guided practicum

✔ 12 EMDRIA + ASWB ACE CE hours (including 5 ethics hours)
✔ Hybrid format: In-Person in Atlanta + Live Virtual

If you’re passionate about serving the Black community and want to strengthen your EMDR skills, I’d love to have you join us!

Hyperindependent? Toxic masculinity? How about a reframe to survival strategies that were learned and passed down from our ancestors!

Rest is resistance.
And it always has been.

A few weeks ago, I visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture in DC, and it reminded me of something we don’t talk about enough: our ancestors didn’t get the luxury of softness. Showing emotion, slowing down, or resting could have cost them their lives. Survival required constant strength despite their pain.

That history didn’t disappear. It lives in our bodies. And we're reminded of it every single day while being Black in America.

So many of us Black men and women are still operating in survival mode: overworking, pushing through exhaustion, and feeling guilty for resting. But we don’t have to do that anymore.

We get to be gentle.
We get to slow down.
We get to take breaks.
We get to rest.

Because rest is not lazines, it’s healing.
Rest is nervous system regulation.
Rest is reclaiming what was denied to our ancestors.

If you’re feeling burned out, overwhelmed, or stuck in a cycle of overworking, therapy can be a space where someone holds you, centers you, and reminds you that you matter.

You deserve rest.
You deserve care.
You deserve support.

Tell me in the comments: How are you prioritizing rest right now?

Check out my VLOG for the rest of my reflections about how incredible our ancestors were and we are as Black folks. We are truly DOPE!

Heyyyyyy Black couples! 🙋🏾‍♀️ 👋🏾 Do you know how something can hit you SO HARD in your relationship--sometimes it knocks the wind out of you. And you never really got to feel held and cared for in it? Well Conversation 5 allows you the space to do just that.

The partner who was hurt gets to speak on how that thang really impacted them, and the other partner practices hearing it without getting defensive, taking responsibility, and showing up with so much compassion and care. This ain’t about blame or shame. Instead, it’s about repair, honesty, and restoring trust.

Register today to come hang out in this space that is created with you in mind! Link below. 👇🏾
