Happy World Breastfeeding Week! 🤍

I haven’t been the most active on social media lately, but World Breastfeeding Week felt like the perfect reason to pop in and share a few snapshots from my baby’s 10-month-and-counting feeding journey!

If there’s one thing I believe deeply, it’s that there is no single “picture-perfect” version of a successful feeding journey. Whether it’s at the breast or with a bottle, at home or out in the middle of everyday life—feeling supported and finding what works for your family is the true definition of success.

Here’s to every stage, every location, and every way we nourish our babies! ✨

I may be five minutes late to this meme and this is also a boring insurance post, but I wanted to share some changes I recently made with billing! I have partnered with Lactation Consultants of America (LCA).

I’m shaking things up for two main reasons: first, so you won’t have hard caps on visits (this has been especially challenging for TLN families with Aetna), and second, so that I can now be in-network to support families with BCBS/Anthem, and eventually Tricare. Overall, I’m confident that this change will allow commercial insurance families to receive the most comprehensive care.

Current/recent clients have already received an email detailing how this change affects them based on their plan. I am still directly in-network with Aetna and intend to continue to bill Aetna directly. If you have friends with BCBS (or any network insurance, really) who have been looking for in-network lactation coverage, send them my way! I’d be happy to help!

Over the next year I’ll have a GSU Occupational Therapy capstone student working with me. She’s currently in the research phase of her capstone and we are looking for postpartum mothers willing to participate in an interview with her. Consider filling out the form if you are interested in participating or please share this with a postpartum friend! See below for more details!

The purpose of this study is to better understand mothers’ experiences during the postpartum period, including changes in daily routines, roles, and overall adjustment to motherhood. Information gathered from this study may help occupational therapy practitioners develop resources and support for mothers during this transition.

If you are interested in participating, please complete the form in the link/QR code. This form will collect basic contact information and determine whether you meet the study criteria. Completion of this form does not obligate you to participate in the study. If you are eligible, the researcher will contact you with additional information about the interview process.
