Migraines that show up right before your period are not a coincidence.

Hormonal shifts are one of the most common and most overlooked migraine triggers. If your worst headache days line up with your cycle, you are not imagining it, and you are not stuck with it.

At the Southeast Center for Headaches, we treat hormonal migraines with a plan built around your actual pattern, not a generic prescription. That can mean Botox, nerve blocks, infusion therapy, or a preventive plan timed to your cycle. Same and next day appointments mean you are not waiting months to start feeling better.

Every referral is a transfer of trust.

You have followed this patient for years. You know their history, their family, and what they have already tried. When you send them to a specialist, you are not just looking for an appointment. You are looking for someone who will take the case seriously, work it thoroughly, and tell you what they found.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

Our physicians bring more than 50 years of combined experience in epilepsy, pediatric neurology, and headache medicine. We evaluate the patients other practices have not been able to resolve. We participate in clinical research so patients have options beyond standard therapy. And we close the loop with you, so the patient who leaves your office comes back to it with a diagnosis and a plan you can actually work with.

The Southeast Center for Headaches treats adult and pediatric migraine and chronic headache, including Botox, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, infusion therapy, and Pro Nox, with telehealth available across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas.

She had already given up. Her daughter had not.

That is the part of this review we keep coming back to. A woman with almost daily migraines had stopped believing relief was possible. Her daughter, a nurse, went looking anyway.

From a verified Google review:

"Dr. Berenson and his team have really helped me with my chronic migraines where other doctors hadn't. I had given up hope of getting relief from almost daily migraines when my daughter (an RN) researched and found very positive information about the Southeast Center for Headaches. Since starting treatment my migraines have been reduced at least 50% and usually aren't as painful as before. I feel like I have my life back again."

If you love someone who has stopped talking about their headaches, pay attention to that silence. People who have been dismissed enough times stop asking. They cancel plans without explaining why. They keep a bottle of something in every bag. They tell you they are fine because the alternative is explaining it again to someone who will not believe them.

They are probably not going to make the call. You might.

Headache medicine is its own subspecialty, and the Southeast Center for Headaches does nothing else. Chronic migraine, daily headache, post concussion headache, hormonal migraine, and the complicated cases that have already been through three or four providers.

You can be the one who looks it up. That is how this started for her.

The most useful thing you can bring to your first appointment costs nothing.

Write it down.

When did it happen. What time of day. How long did it last. What was going on right before. What made it better or worse. What did it look like to someone watching.

Two weeks of notes on your phone tells us more than an hour of trying to remember in an exam room. Patterns show up on paper that nobody notices while they are living through them.

You do not need medical language. You do not need to be right about what it means. That part is our job.

Just write down what you see.

For headache and migraine, tracking is one of the strongest diagnostic tools we have. Frequency, duration, triggers, sleep, cycle timing, and what you took for relief all shape the treatment plan we build with you. Bring whatever you have, even if it is messy.

You have a folder. Or a note on your phone. A list of everything you have already tried.

Two primary care doctors. A general neurologist. Three preventives that did nothing, or did something for a while and then stopped. An ER visit you still think about. Somewhere in there, someone suggested you drink more water.

And you are still losing days.

Here is what we want you to know. Headache medicine is its own specialty. There are only a few hundred board certified headache specialists in the entire country, which is why so many people spend years being managed by providers who are doing their best without that specific training.

The Southeast Center for Headaches does one thing. Headache and migraine medicine, for adults and children. Botox, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, infusion therapy, and treatment plans built around your actual pattern instead of a generic protocol. Our Urgent Headache Clinic sees patients same day or next day, because a bad month should not require a three month wait.

You are not difficult. You are undertreated.

School is back in session. For a lot of families, that is when the questions start.

The classroom is where neurological symptoms tend to surface. A teacher notices a child staring off and losing a few seconds at a time. A student is in the nurse's office for the third time in two weeks. Homework that used to take twenty minutes now takes two hours.

Every fall, these things get explained away. New schedule. Too much screen time. Stress.

Sometimes that is all it is.

Sometimes it is not.

If something feels off in these first weeks of school, you do not have to wait it out to find out.

At the Southeast Center for Headaches, we treat headache and migraine in students and adults alike. New routines, less sleep, and more stress make late summer one of the hardest stretches of the year for anyone who lives with headaches. You do not have to push through it.

If you've spent years bouncing between doctors for your headaches, here's something almost nobody tells you.

There are fewer than 600 board certified headache specialists in the entire country. Fewer than 600, for the tens of millions of Americans living with migraine and chronic headache.

So if it has felt impossible to find someone who truly understands what you're going through, it wasn't in your head and it wasn't your fault. This kind of care is simply that rare.

That's exactly why the Southeast Center for Headaches exists. Dedicated headache specialists. Same and next day appointments when you need them. Telehealth across GA, AL, TN and TX, so you don't have to live near us to be treated by us.

You've waited long enough.

You are selective about where you send your patients. Good. You should be.

A referral is your reputation walking out the door. When that patient comes back to you, what they say about the specialist reflects on you. So you do not hand that trust to just anyone.

Neither do we.

PANDA Neurology and the Southeast Center for Headaches were built around the two things a discerning physician actually needs from a specialist: access when it matters, and communication you can count on.

For your pediatric neurology and epilepsy patients, PANDA offers a 24 hour response for new onset seizures, the only practice in Atlanta that does. Board certified epilepsy expertise. Access to clinical trials through CIRCA when a case is complex or treatment resistant.

For your headache and migraine patients, SECH runs an Urgent Headache Clinic with same day and next day appointments, staffed by dedicated headache specialists in a region that is critically short of them. Comprehensive in office treatment. Telehealth across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas.

And after every visit, your office hears from us. No black hole. No wondering what became of the patient you trusted us with.

Send us your hardest cases. The ones no one else could sort out. That is exactly who we want to see.

Refer with confidence. We will earn it every time.
