Beyond the Pose — Episode 4: Savasana
Hate it or love it? Savasana, or Co**se Pose, is the stillness at the end of class. It’s also the part people are most tempted to skip. They stay for the challenging poses and slip out before the pause.

But that final moment matters. After all the movement, breath, and effort, it’s where you get to stop doing and let the practice settle. It’s also a practice of surrender: letting go of control, of striving, of needing this moment to be different.

And if lying flat doesn’t feel good in your body, use props, bend your knees, or find another resting position that works for you. The invitation is to release the effort, not to make your mind go blank.

Next time your teacher invites you into Savasana, give yourself permission to pause.

Being able to do it all yourself doesn’t mean you should have to.

Hyperindependence often looks like strength, which is exactly why it’s so easy to miss what it’s quietly costing you. So let’s talk about it.

If you’d like to go deeper, Undoing the Lone Wolf Spell, a 7-day Guided Journey, is waiting inside the TNTW Portal. Link in bio.

You are allowed to experience joy in the midst of your becoming.

To laugh while you’re still healing. To celebrate before you’ve reached the goal. To enjoy your life even when everything isn’t quite where you want it to be.

Because joy isn’t the reward for a life well lived. It’s part of what makes life worth living.

Multi-hyphenates make people uncomfortable because we’re difficult to neatly categorize. But in this era of my life, I’m no longer compartmentalizing myself for someone else’s comfort. 🧭 I’m embracing ALL the gifts, skills, and abilities God has given me and allowing them to coexist.

I’m a workplace civil rights attorney. I’ve worked on 300+ federal EEO cases as an attorney, investigator, mediator, counselor, and consultant.

I’m ALSO a holistic wellness educator. Since founding True North Total Wellness in 2018, I’ve:
✨ Formulated bespoke tea blends and wellness products
✨ Earned 8 yoga certifications, including my 500-hour RYT, and taught 250+ classes
✨ Studied herbalism and became a certified tea teacher
✨ Opened the TNTW Wellness Lounge in Atlanta
✨ Trained in medical intuition, nutrition, trauma-informed and somatic practices, and wellness coaching
✨ Built the TNTW Portal

Objectively? Factually, I DID. 😂
But what matters more than the credentials is the integration.Every one of my wellness paths began with medicine I needed personally. The practices and tools I sought out for my own healing and growth eventually became part of how I serve others.

I’m a better attorney because yoga taught me how to hold space for myself and others. And I’m a better wellness educator because I know the difference between studying a practice and living it.

These aren’t competing identities. They’re different expressions of who I am, and each path has enriched the other.

You get to be BOTH/AND. Multi-hyphenated. Multidimensional.

The journey is rarely linear for Wayfinders. Sometimes the side quests, detours, and unexpected pivots are what help us discover more of who we are.
Don’t put yourself in a box. And don’t let anyone else do it either.

Much of what I’ve learned now lives inside the TNTW Portal, created to help you cultivate well-being, reconnect with yourself, and find your own True North.

My True North is not your True North. And that’s the beauty of it.

I believe there’s a deeper knowing within each of us. But sometimes life gets so loud that we lose touch with it.

For me, holistic wellness has never been just about the practices themselves. It’s about what those practices make possible: the space to get still, reconnect with ourselves, reclaim our agency, and live in greater alignment with who we truly are.

We can learn from one another, support one another, and walk alongside one another. But we cannot outsource our soul’s work.

And part of the journey is remembering that the wisdom we’re searching for isn’t always somewhere outside of us. ✨

Not every herb is for everybody. And just because an herb is popular doesn’t mean it’s what your body needs.

One of the things I love most about herbalism is the opportunity to be intentional about how we nourish and support ourselves.

My signature blend of nettle, oatstraw, rose hips, and tulsi was formulated with my own wellness journey in mind: mineral nourishment, nervous system resilience, vitality, and ongoing maintenance.

It’s become one of my most consistent daily rituals. And as my needs evolve, my blend can evolve with me.

That’s the beauty of personalized herbal wellness. 🌿
Wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all, and your herbal practices shouldn’t be either.

Be honest: what’s a small decision that nearly broke you? If dinner, outfits or one more “quick question” feel heavier than they should, your capacity may be signaling decision fatigue. Here are some simple ways to manage.

What if abundance begins with recognizing what is already enough?

Under this Hunter’s Moon in Ta**us, your body becomes the measure: not what you’ve acquired, but what truly nourishes you.

At the Libra New Moon, we explored worth in relationship. With Venus still retrograde, the question now turns inward.

Pluto sharpens the line between holding and gripping, and Mercury retrograde asks us to revisit before we decide.

Grounding is not the same as staying stuck.
Security is not the same as control.
Abundance is not the same as accumulation.
You can be grateful for what has sustained you and still recognize when it’s time to let something go.

🌙 Embodied Rituals: Peak is just after midnight Monday, so Sunday evening is your optimal window.
👣 Earth Altar: Arrange stones, leaves, flowers, or fruit where you can sit. Bare feet down. Breathe and notice what is already holding you up.
🎁 Receiving Ritual: Brew tea, light something fragrant, wrap up in something soft. Then do nothing to earn it. If guilt or restlessness surfaces, notice it. That’s information, not instruction.
🖐🏽 Enoughness Inventory: Write three things that are already enough. Then name one thing you’re holding out of fear or habit. You don’t have to release it tonight. Just loosen your grip.

🍵 Sacred Sips
These three center the heart, soften the throat, and warm the body, so you can feel what’s already enough instead of reaching for more.
Linden: Eases the nervous system toward rest
Licorice Root: Sweet and throat-soothing. Skip if pregnant or managing high blood pressure; keep it occasional.
Cinnamon: Warming comfort for cool nights
Try linden + cinnamon with honey tonight.

🔮 Crystal Allies
This trio follows the moon’s arc: receive, rest in enough, release.
Rose Quartz: Hold at your heart during your Receiving Ritual
Jade: Place on your Earth Altar as a symbol of enough
Malachite: Keep close during your Enoughness Inventory

Tea has always been more than a beverage to me. 🍵
As a tea teacher, I’ve learned to pay attention to the leaf. To its origin, texture, processing, temperature, timing. To what happens when we stop trying to rush the experience and simply allow it to unfold.
And somewhere along the way, I realized tea was teaching me how to live.

Tend to the vessel. Honor what is different. Allow yourself time to unfurl. Pay attention to what’s here.

Wellness doesn’t always require adding another thing to the routine. Sometimes the practice is slowing down enough to notice what an ordinary ritual has been teaching us all along.

For my tea lovers, what has tea taught you? 🍃
