New study shows concerns for negative mental health impact on preteens as a result of smartphones and social media.

Social media can impact a preteen’s mental health by increasing feelings of anxiety, low self-esteem, and exposure to harmful content during a critical time of emotional development. It’s important to stay connected, supportive, and informed as your child navigates the digital world.

3 Tips to Support Mental Health:

1. Encourage open conversations about online experiences without judgment.
2. Set healthy screen time boundaries and promote tech-free family time.
3. Foster real-life friendships and activities to build self-confidence and emotional resilience.
