TRAUMA IS A TOXIN.

Healing is a biological process. The same way your liver filters what you eat, your nervous system filters what you feel. And when the filtration stops, when the feeling gets frozen instead of moved, the body stores it as tension in the tissues and eventually as illness.

THIS IS WHY TALKING ABOUT YOUR TRAUMA IS NOT THE SAME AS RELEASING IT.

Insight lives in the mind. Release lives in the body. You can understand your wound perfectly and still carry it in your shoulders, your jaw, your breath. Cognition is not the exit. Sensation is.

So shake. Cry. Move. Sound it out. Let your body do what it was always trying to do before you learned to override it.

Detox is not gentle by nature, it is gentle by choice. You get to decide the pace and you get to decide the container, but you don’t get to skip the process and call it healed.

YOUR BODY IS NOT BROKEN. IT IS FULL.

Make room.

Heavy Metals: Foods, Mushrooms & Supplements for Detox and Binding

1: Lead

β€’ Chlorella & spirulina, cracked cell wall for binding properties
β€’ Modified citrus pectin
β€’ Calcium, competes for absorption sites, reducing lead uptake
β€’ Garlic, sulfur compounds
β€’ Vitamin C

2: Mercury

β€’ Chlorella, well-studied for mercury binding
β€’ Cilantro
β€’ Selenium (Brazil nuts, sardines) binds mercury with very high affinity
β€’ NAC (N-acetylcysteine) a glutathione precursor
β€’ Milk thistle (silymarin) supports liver conjugation
β€’ Alpha-lipoic acid

3: Cadmium

β€’ Zinc, competes for the same transporters
β€’ Selenium
β€’ Garlic & allium vegetables
β€’ Pectin-rich fruits (apples, citrus)
β€’ NAC

4: Arsenic

β€’ Folate-rich foods (leafy greens, legumes) support methylation/excretion pathway
β€’ Selenium
β€’ Garlic
β€’ Chlorella
β€’ Blueberries (esp. wild/bilberry, Vaccinium myrtillus) contain antioxidants shown to protect the nervous system from arsenic-related damage

5: Aluminum

β€’ Silica-rich foods & waters (horsetail, oats) contain silicic acid which is well-documented for aluminum excretion
β€’ Malic acid (apples, especially with lemon)
β€’ Turmeric/curcumin

6: Barium

β€’ Potassium is barium’s primary physiological antagonist; recognized since the 1930s for counteracting barium’s effects, particularly on cardiac/muscle function
β€’ Calcium & zinc-rich foods act as antagonists, competing with barium and reducing absorption
β€’ Fiber (chia seeds, flaxseeds, whole grains, fruits, vegetables) binds barium in the digestive tract, limiting reabsorption and supporting elimination via stool; 25–30g/day commonly cited
β€’ Chlorella & spirulina. Chelating algae; bind barium in the gut for elimination, also support liver detox via chlorophyll content
β€’ Cilantro & parsley support mobilization of barium from tissue for processing by liver/kidneys
β€’ Garlic & onions are sulfur compounds supporting liver detox pathways

Antioxidant Fruits (cross-metal nervous system & tissue support)

β€’ Blueberries / bilberries are among the most studied berries for antioxidant density; wild/Nordic varieties test highest. Shown to support detox function in the nervous system and buffer oxidative damage from metal exposure, arsenic in particular
β€’ Pomegranate
β€’ Dark cherries

Medicinal Mushrooms

β€’ Reishi is often positioned as the lead mushroom for this purpose; liver protection, immune support, heavy-metal detoxification
β€’ Cordyceps offers renal protection, supports toxin elimination, reduces inflammation
β€’ Shiitake is rich in selenium; counters heavy-metal effects, supports immunity and liver detox
β€’ Turkey Tail offers immune and liver support, common in bioremediation-style detox protocols
β€’ Chaga is frequently included alongside reishi/cordyceps/chaga trios in adaptogenic detox stacks
β€’ Mechanism: polysaccharides, triterpenoids, phenolic compounds, and ergosterol support the body’s detox pathways; chelation activity and oxidative stress reduction are the primary mechanisms cited

Cross-Cutting Binders & Support

β€’ Chlorella & spirulina provide broad-spectrum binding
β€’ Zeolite (clinoptilolite) has a cage-like mineral structure which traps various metals
β€’ Activated charcoal is a broad, non-specific binder (also binds nutrients/meds so, timing matters)
β€’ Modified citrus pectin
β€’ Glutathione support: NAC, milk thistle, glycine, sulfur vegetables (broccoli, garlic, onions)
β€’ Diatomaceous earth (food-grade)
β€’ Sauna / sweating protocols support excretion pathways alongside binding agents

North Node of the Moon (Dragon's Head/Rahu) & Health

In medical astrology, the North Node of the Moon, also known as Rahu or the Dragon's Head, is believed to reveal areas where we may experience recurring health challenges, heightened sensitivities, or important life lessons related to physical and emotional well-being. Rather than indicating certainty, it points to areas that may require greater awareness and balance.

Health Themes by House Placement

1st House: Head, brain, face, migraines, nervous system sensitivity, stress-related conditions.

2nd House: Throat, thyroid, mouth, teeth, vocal cords, eating habits, and metabolism.

3rd House: Lungs, shoulders, arms, hands, respiratory health, anxiety, and nerve-related concerns.

4th House: Chest, breasts, stomach, digestion, emotional well-being, and inherited health tendencies.

5th House: Heart, spine, circulation, reproductive vitality, and hormonal balance.

6th House: Chronic illnesses, digestive disorders, intestines, immune system, and lifestyle-related health issues.

7th House: Kidneys, lower back, reproductive balance, and health influenced by relationships or partnerships.

8th House: Reproductive organs, elimination, detoxification, surgery, hidden illnesses, and transformational healing.

9th House: Liver, hips, thighs, sciatica, and health influenced by travel, beliefs, or lifestyle choices.

10th House: Knees, bones, joints, skin, and stress associated with career and responsibilities.

11th House: Calves, ankles, circulation, varicose veins, and nervous tension arising from social obligations.

12th House: Feet, lymphatic system, sleep disorders, subconscious stress, psychosomatic conditions, and hidden health concerns.

The North Node represents the soul's path of growth. Its house placement can symbolically highlight where developing healthier habits, greater self-awareness, and emotional balance may support overall well-being.

Reconnecting with the planet is inseparable from reconnecting with the body.

The Earth teaches reverence through her cycles, her seasons, and her refusal to be rushed. Slowing down enough to feel the ground beneath us, to track the moon, to listen to birdsong, to notice what the soil asks of us before it gives anything back.

This is how we relearn true reverence.

It roots in the planet first, then moves inward, until approaching our own body without exploiting it or needing to control it becomes possible too.

It becomes the same quality of attention we bring to our own sensation, our own pace, our own asking before taking.

Practicing reverence in connection to Earth, our Mother, is where we can also relearn reverence for the body. In the slow and intentional work of restoring relationship where severance was taught, we will remember that the Earth and the body were never two separate things to begin with.

Core Attributes of Owl Spirit Medicine

Intuition & Clairvoyance: With razor-sharp vision and hearing, owl medicine empowers you to perceive what others hide. You can easily distinguish between reality and superficial appearances.

Shadow Work: Associated with the night, the owl spirit guides you through your own fears, unresolved grief, or hidden potential. It teaches you to confront the darkness so you can emerge into the light.

Transition & Change: In some Indigenous and shamanic traditions, the owl represents a change in states, guiding individuals through necessary endings and new beginnings.

When Owl Appears

When the owl shows up as your totem, it is typically a message to:

Trust your instincts: Rely on your inner voice rather than external noise.
Observe silently: Listen carefully and look for subtle signs before taking action.

Release the old: Step away from habits, relationships, or situations that no longer serve your higher purpose.

Prana Mudra

Bring the tips of your ring finger and pinky to meet the tip of your thumb. Index and middle fingers extend long. Rest the backs of your hands on your thighs.

Feel the circuit close in your hands.

Now breathe into that.

Inhale through the nose, belly softens and expands, low ribs widen, pelvic floor yields. The breath rises like a tide from the root.

Without pausing at the top, let the exhale begin. Slow, full, the center drawing gently inward and up.

Without pausing at the bottom, inhale again.

One continuous wave. No holds. No gaps. Inhale flowing into exhale, exhale flowing into inhale.

Let the mudra anchor you as the breath begins to move on its own. You are not driving it, you are riding it.

Stay here for ten to twenty minutes. If the mind wanders, the hands will bring you back. If sensation arises, breathe into it. If emotion moves, let it move through the breath.

The mudra holds the container. The connected breath fills it, empties it, fills it again.
