Clinical Director - Shawn Witt
As a trauma survivor herself, Shawn had the vision no person should ever feel alone in their recovery, which prompted her to embark on her therapeutic journey. Obtaining her Master’s in the psychoanalytic discipline from Northwestern University, she became an LPC, and specialized in trauma, personality disorders and addiction. Practicing Level Two EMDR techniques both in her private practice and as theClinical Director of Perimeter Treatment Center in Sandy Springs, GA, she provides group therapy and long-term treatment options in a personalized setting, for those healing from mental health issues related to trauma and addiction.
Shawn, author of Healing Trauma Through the 12 Steps, often lectures throughout Georgia on trauma and recovery, introducing others to her innovative approach to trauma therapy with a unique connection to community. These experiences motivated her to establish TraumAnon, a peer-led, 12-step trauma support group. Founded in 2019, TraumAnon now has an over 9,000-member community spanning across the U.S. and multiple other countries. Shawn was elected to the LPCA Board of Directors, serving as the Communications Chair, in 2026. She has been a guest speaker at the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network Conference and hosts certifications and training throughout Georgia. She is a CPS and an FPM (Forensic Peer Mentor).
