If our walls could talk, they would share countless stories of hope, healing and of the amazing people who have dedicated their entire careers to the kids we serve.

This year, we are honoring nearly 2,000 employees and physicians who are celebrating a milestone anniversary at Children’s. Among them are four remarkable employees—Leslie, Lynn, Connie and Donna—who have dedicated 40 to 45 years of service to our mission. They embody what it means to be committed to doing everything possible to make anything possible for kids. 💚

Around here, Halloween costumes tend to be personal.

For Grace, who's awaiting a heart transplant, the inspiration was easy: the cardiologists in our Heart Center who have cared for her, cheered her on and sparked her dream of one day wearing a white coat of her own.

In honor of APP (Advanced Practice Provider) Week, we’re celebrating Yazmin’s inspiring journey to becoming a physician assistant at Children’s.

Yazmin spent several years as a patient care coordinator learning from pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Schmitz and his team. In that role, she found more than experience—she found encouragement and the support she needed to follow her dream of going to PA school.

During her time in school, Yazmin completed a rotation at Children’s, which confirmed what she already knew—this was where she wanted to be. Today, Yazmin is proud to be an advanced practice provider where she assists pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Dell McLaughlin in the operating room, rounding with patients and seeing patient families in clinic.

Four years ago, Orion could not hold a pencil. Today, he's a standout hockey player. 🏒

Diagnosed with PHACE syndrome as an infant, Orion has faced countless challenges, including developmental delays, vision and coordination issues, hearing loss and fine motor limitations, but that has never once stopped him.

Every time Orion takes the ice, his athleticism and passion reflects years of rehab therapy, nearly 20 procedures, a dedicated care team and his determination to keep pushing forward, one stride at a time.

After weeks of scans, blood work and biopsies, Kyson’s family received devasting news: Kyson had stage 2A Hodgkin's lymphoma, a rare cancer of the lymphatic system that begins in the white blood cells.

Although Kyson had no symptoms and his cancer was caught early, his journey still required significant treatment. Under the care of Dr. Jason Stevenson, a pediatric hematologist/oncologist in our Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, Kyson underwent multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. The road wasn’t easy, but through it all, Kyson remained resilient.

Recently, Kyson rang the end-of-treatment bell—a powerful milestone made even more meaningful as he celebrated alongside his family and care team. 🔔
